How bad is his ankle injury. He frickin jogged off the field barely limping and has been out 4 weeks.

Either worse than it looked or Kirby protecting his freshman status at this point as long as he can

Protecting a running back's redshirt? I'm skeptical.

High ankle sprains generally last at least a month and usually more. Missing 4 weeks for an ankle sprain isn't unusual at all.

Why would he do that considering our depth at the position? When we're counting on a walkon and a guy from a different position to log minutes I doubt we're holding a guy back just so he can play as a senior

Maybe he's just saving him for later in the season when we'll need him more?

I just heard on one it the podcasts or YouTube channel that cover UGA football that Rod is getting closer to being back…he’s been running in a pool, and is switching to “dry land” running this week.

I suspect Kirby is aware that this team can get by without one or two guys here and there for their full recovery cycle(as along as his QB stays healthy) without rushing them back and risking more costly injuries.

I’m no expert and I certainly am not privy to closed door conversations in Kirby’s Cabinet, but it seems he’s been holding guys out til they are ready to come back all season so far.

We have a long tradition of bringing back players for the Florida game going back multiple coaches, basically because the Florida game is a big deal and there's almost always a bye week before the game.

The knee jerk response for most players is "should be back by Florida"

Whether that is true or is hopeful or an annual reflex (Florida is typically our biggest game to date and after the bye), i don't know.

It would be nice to have a month's worth of games with a full roster to prepare for the best from the west.

Pretty sure it was Rusty who said he saw Mims walking with no limp in sneakers and no boot last week. Guessing at UF of Mizzou for Mims return.

If the University of Florida of Missouri was a real school and they could combine all their players and pick the best ones, UFM may or may not be able to give us a good game.

I don't recall us being this thin at running back since 94. I think that was the year we used Hines Ward at running back. Why didn't Kirby go out in the transfer portal get some running backs? Maybe there just weren't many available.

We also have a long tradition of talking about players being back for the Florida game and it not happening for another 3 weeks

We had:

Daijun Edwards
Kendall Milton
Branson Robinson
Rod Robinson
Andrew Paul
Cash Jones

When the portal was open, all those guys were good to go. There wasn't a need.

Now three of those guys are out for the season, and a 4th one is perpetually injured, so how could you predict that a 6 man RB room would be reduced to just one or 2? And with that room, how do you recruit a guy from the portal into that room? When the portal was open, we had a WR deficit so that's what UGA went after. We didn't know in advance that all these RB;s would get hurt.

I don't think this is correct, is it?

Edwards, Milton, Cash Jones and Andrew Paul played Saturday, and someone on here is saying that Roderick Robinson could be back soon. It appears as if we are about to get fairly healthy. I do believe that the loss of Robinson was major, though. If we add a few touches with Dillon Bell we should be ok at RB. Bell has done surprisingly well at RB for a WR.

We started Branden Smith at RB for a game in 2011. He was a CB.

RR0 should be back for UF. Bell played a Deebo Samuel type role in HS and wants to be a WR. Staff has tried to sell him on continuing in the Deebo role for now.
