I posted about this elsewhere, but yeah.
I was involved in the discussions around this (lightly) as an opposition voice. Unfortunately, it seems like the powers that be have weighed the pros/cons of the situation and here we are. I truly hope that it has the impact people are hoping for because I associated that song with the ending of every game, having performed it for crowds over 50 times in my 5 seasons.

The only three groups I see getting upset over this are older alumni, traditionalists, and racists.
Totally respect where you're coming from Triplebrass, and can see why it's sentimental to you.

It's a fricking theme song to a movie. It's not like it was played when slavery was still active in the US. Also, they are replacing it with "Georgia on my Mind," which is the song they play at Stone Mountain laser and light show with the confederate generals animated walking.....AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I’ll be honest, I’d rather hear Georgia On My Mind anyway. Most beautiful song about our home ever written and I wish they’d play it pregame.

Absolutely agree. However, Tara's Theme is a long tradition that is being ruined because it was a theme song to a friggin movie. No one gave 2 shits about it being played.

I’ll be honest, too, I know very little about the Redcoats catalogue postgame outside of ode to joy and Tara. It really doesn’t register with me as something I’ll miss.
