While we're on the subject...how do yall think we will handle Eason?

With Stafford, the situation kinda worked out perfectly. Joe T was still the starter going in. He played like 85% of the opener against WKU, and started again against SC. Fate turned his ankle on the 2nd series so Stafford had to start, which he did for a game or 2. Then when Joe T was healthy again going into UT, he got his starting job back. Once we started getting killed, Richt basically said "well, nothing to lose now, might as well play him" and we started Staff the rest of the year.

However, JT was a senior, so it helped make things easy. In 2016, Ramsey will be a sophomore while JE is a freshman. So it's not as simple as saying "well BR won't be here next year so might as well go with the young guy".

Ramsey will actually be a RS Junior in 2016. RS Eason that year to let him adjust to the environment assuming Ramsey is good enough to get the job done. If Ramsey is still at UGA in 2017, let Eason compete with him.

Projecting that far out is tough though.

IMO Park transfers come 16.

Not sure on the Ramsey/Bauta thing. I actually want Bauta to get some situational playing time this year.

I could see this, but I don't see Ramsey starting in 2017.

Whoopsies, it's still early.

I'm usually all for this, but if you have the #1 QB in the country and a top 5 overall player, you typically don't redshirt him unless you're fairly damn sure you'll get 4 years out of him, which is impossible to know that far in advance.

The only reason we redshirted Murray is because his arm was hurt and he couldn't even throw until like October.

I think Ramsey gets the nod if he has good chemistry with the receivers. He tends to burn it in there like Stafford. No matter who gets the starting roll, Bauta will get special situations. He is good now, but with yet another year and more experience you just can't keep him off the field.

I hope they use him kind of like Florida used Tebow before he was a starter.

That's true, but a dropping a kid straight out of small school WA HS football into the role of starting SEC QB could potentially go poorly. Murray and Stafford played at Plant and Highland Park respectively. Those are big, winning programs where the culture shock coming to UGA wasn't as big.

I just think an adjustment period could be good for him. Even if not a RS year, maybe a Freshman year with only spot/mop-up duty, at least at first.

I have a very hard time seeing Eason coming in right off the bat and taking over. More so than pure talent, Bobo and Richt will go with the guy who has a better grasp of the offense, if the talent gap isn't glaring. Stafford started as a true frosh because we had no one else, but we also had to dumb down our offense. I think Eason comes in a freshman, gets a little experience in mop up duty as the #2 guy, then we see a rotation in '17 with Brice still getting the majority of the snaps.

staff was the guy....murray was the guy...DG was the guy

all this playing this guy, playing that guy, sharing snaps, etc....is crap...BR is the guy going forward...maybe...just maybe play bauta some in some wrinkle type situations to keep D's honest...but make it one guys team...it works better that way...

these young guys should be redshirted and held back just like BR was in order to keep some ebb and flow going for the future...let them grow in the offense an dthere shouldnt be drop off...think HM an Shockley...

Call me crazy but I really like Faton

^^ This agreed.

Faton has a better than advertised arm and he has quick feet. He could be in the mold of Conner Shaw for UGA. I like the guy!

I haven't seen anything out of Ramsey that's been special. He may end up being the starter I just saw more out of Park at the G-Day game.
