Not for a head coaching gig.

Yes for a HC job. Unless you have heard specifically otherwise?
ETA: i'm seeing you meant WE don't want him for a HC gig. I agree - my bad

That would probably be a good career move for him. Which is not good for us.

South Carolina trying to take a poke back at us.

247 sports says CJP is seriously considering taking that job. I'd like to see him team up with KS at UGA.

I can understand his interest. But he needs to be careful, 2 icons went there and struggled, Spurrier do bad he simply walked out.
Seems like that program is a tar baby.

Career wise I understand why he would be interested but I hope we can keep him around. Another good year or two and he could take any job in the country he wanted. I'm just being selfish tho and wanting him to stay at UGA

Spurrier turned USCjr from a pimple in the SEC to a true contender. He struggled, sure, but consider the circumstances. That school was a perrenial bottom-feeder in the SEC.
If CJP were to go there and spend a few years turning their program around, he'd start to get serious looks from elite schools for a HC position. As DC at UGA, that's going to be very difficult. Hell, it's one of the most common reasons we eliminate candidates over here "nah, let him prove himself somewhere else first".

Their 7th choice is our 1st choice apparently.
Let that sink in...

To be fair, our first choice hasn't turned us down yet.
They've already whiffed publicly (herman) and who knows how many other times privately.

Holy shite they are desperate

to a true contender
First 6 years he lost 5 to 6 games a year. 3 straight at 11 2 (that must be the contender you are referring to) then straight back to 6 losses a year and then he quit.
And that was one of the greatest college football coaches of all time.
Careful, Mr. Pruitt. Odds are better that it is a black mark rather than a gold star IMO.

Pruitt might think he can win at USCe. The SEC East isn't that good. Georgia might be in for hard times. Clemson is contending for a NC--Why not South Carolina? If he fails he can blame it on the school and if he succeeds, he's a genius.

That's the point. Imagine if Pruitt went to USC and did just as well as Spurrier did. What would that say about Pruitt?
These AD's aren't stupid. They know how difficult it is to turn the skidmark in Columbia into a contender.
