Kirby should come out and support his eligibility. How can it hurt UGA?

I agree the KJ comments were directed towards the cops, but with the way Otis was throwing Kirby and staff under the bus, I don’t think our players need to jump on his bandwagon at the moment.

No he shouldn't. This particular case might not "hurt UGA" but it opens the door to a very slippery slope in the future. What if the next wants to go to AU or another West school on the schedule or UF, UT, or Mizz and makes the same allegations. They cite so and so was granted a release and I should too. The rule has been clear, transfer in the conference and you sit out a year (exception Grads).

If Luke Ford had to sit out a year due to moving back home (out of state and conference) for a dying family member and Jake Eason had to sit out a year after only playing 3 series in the first game (missing 2 seasons) of the year then moving across the country to go back home, why should this be different. I don't think losing your job to an underclassman warrants some special right to be treated differently.

Kirby and UGA cooperate with certain transfer requests but not those in conference before graduation. Doesn’t mean ncaa will grant those they do cooperate with but it’s more likely that player becomes Immediately eligible. Cooperation in this case sets a bad precedent and nearly every other SEC coach does the same when it comes to undergrad, inter conference transfers.

This is what happens when you indoctrinate kids with this BLM nonsense. Everything is racism.

This is what happens when you pamper these kids. Give them everything they ask for, a free education, 24/7 medical care, personal tutors and nutritionists and they just don't understand how good they have it.

It's enough to make me want to watch Division II/III football. I'm so sick of these ignorant morons who have no idea how good they have it. If I was Otis Reese, I would thank my lucky stars If I got a UGA scholarship. A chance to earn a degree from a top 50 college (for free!) and a chance to play in the SEC.

Of course I don't blame them for acting like spoiled brats. Everyone is kissing their arse on TV for being so "brave" playing football during covid, have Kirk Herbstreit on tv sobbing about social justice issues.

These athletes think they're more important than they actually are. I'm so sick of what's becoming Division 1 football. It's essentially become the NFL, these kids treat college like free agency, they have absolutely no perspective on life.

Head coaches nowadays have to deal with so much freaking crap. Every week its something with this program. I don't care anymore. I know now why Kirby Smart offered a guy like Ladd McConkey. He knows he can count on him to be accountable, work hard and not be a freakin headache.

These athletes also bring in millions of dollars for the school so I get some of the frustration. Just not the made up parts. You can argue you should get paid more for jersey sales without comparing your role at the university to slavery which some people have done. I’m not saying it’s easy to manage, but it’s almost like there’s no middle ground in society today.

What these entitled little shits don't realize is that college football fans are going to show up regardless of who is wearing the jerseys. If SEC games looked like D2 games, there would still be 93,000 fans in Sanford Stadium every Saturday in the fall.

Kids are soon going to be able to transfer as they wish anyway and supporting the eligibility goes against the racism and biased claim. Supporting it would look a lot better right now than opposing it.

I liked and supported the kid up until he spouts this crap. Same with Mays and Fields.

Go away without burning bridges. It is sadly ironic that the guy we all love - Luke Ford - did it the right way and got punished by the NCAA. But screwed up NCAA is trying to help these squeaky wheels. This isn't how you parent. This is not the proper way to run a civilization.

I hate the NCAA more now than ever.

He mentions a "close friend who was called the n-word by a white student athlete...". Sounds like they're still milking the friggin Fields incident.

I'd also want to know more about the police stop. Easy to say what he said with no counterpoint. Is he one of these people that assumes they're pulled over only because of the color of their skin when they're 20 over the speed limit? Would love to know the facts here.

Otis isn't getting support from Reddit

A lot of the comments are on target against Reese.

UGA just released a statement saying they can’t legally comment but would be happy to if Otis signs a release allowing them to do so. What are the odds we don’t hear another peep from Kiffin, sorry I mean Otis, on this again now?
