Good lord, quit being such a sensitive bitch. Cellini's been making fun of retards for years.
His sponsors think otherwise. Making fun of a person who has ALS is fricking ridiculous whether they play sports or not. You can act the badass on the internet if you want though.

Given that ALS is also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, I think Mr. Gleason is, at best, 2nd in raising awareness.
Well, since Gehrig died 90 fricking years ago, thanks.

Huh? Sponsors? The decision was made by the GM who was going to get rid of the whole crew anyway.
The "sponsors" didn't really GAS when was making fun of Dick Clark or Curt Douglass (both of whom had disabilities that he made fun of)
Good lord, Howard Stern's made MILLIONS making fun of retards for years but I'm sure you were first in line protesting and calling his sponsors.
Tell ya what,Mr. Falcon (Tommy Nobis) currently has alzheimers. Do you really think I would GAS if a couple of NO shock jocks made fun of em?
Good God, you guys really need to get a life.Just another reason to hate the Saints and their pathetic fan base.

Dick Clarke suffered a stroke, not sure what Douglass you are refering too

you should kindly consider your ignorant opinion about the whole thing really. Idk if you heard how far out of bounds what they were saying was but that station is an ESPN affiliate. Its not KROQ or wtf ever in new york. worse than however offensive, it was completely devoid of anything worth laughing about
I lived in NO for 4 years. I HATE me some saint who dats. But I would change the station if those douches were on the air anywhere

Im with RD Dawg on this one. satire, parody, and pushing the envelope commentary are part of the american fabric.
Our media has been doing parody for over 200 years.
And it never ceases to amaze me at our country fighting within ourselves trying to determine what is going too far. the reality is that if it's funny, then it gets a pass.
This was beyond lame. and it made for a great excuse to free up some salary.

That's definitely not always the case. theres shite idiots say all the time that rides the line without crossing. Hence the term "edgy"
Theres other shite a few of those idiots try and get away with that's only meant to draw some cheap arse exposure. the equivalent of one of these fame whores "leaking" out a sex tape. they'll trade a public image of getting boned by some bbc just to have a name or make a magazine cover

Huh? Listened to em for years when they were making fun of Dick Clark,Curt Douglass and others who had disabilities. Never heard a peep from anyone cause they were putting up numbers and ad revenue. So all of a sudden they were "out of bounds" with this? Give me a freakin break.
So are you saying if they were still an independent station they'd be in clear?
BTW use the word "void" in place of "devoid"...means the same thing.
BTW I've seen ALS up close and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy...I know all about how it effects people and their families

yeah, I am. sports personalities don't have license to cause outrage the way actual shock jocks do. guys like stern are parodies of themselves. you might not know whats coming next, but you know its intention is nothing but offense and/or outage
A sport talk radio host is part reporter, part personality. Its sport related entertainment. Idgaf about the dick clark whatever stuff. I know if they were fake cheering for Vick at the time of his case or making really bad dog jokes it would've been equally shittily received.

And ESPN is owned by Disney, so gotta play extra nice.

They are not owned by ESPN just affiliated. They were owned by Jefferson Pilot. (they were also "affiliated" with WGNX...local CBS station)
Once again, this was all about cost cutting, declining revenues and dumping high priced contracts. BELIEVE ME, if these guys were putting big numbers and ad revenue. there would be nothing more the a couple of days suspension at most.

Wild thing you are in a bubble. The average guy in the closest major cities to New Orleans has not the slightest idea who he is.
That's bullshite. The same day he authored Peter King's MMQB. He had a ten minute feature during the Super Bowl. He has been on Ellen, and quite a few other shows.
He is know outside of NOLA for sure.

I also had no idea who this guy was before this incident.

The only time I ever heard of him or saw him was during the draft he announced a pick or two, that was him right?

I still dont know who he is?
Coach or former player?

LINK
ETA: I understand why ya'll who don't know wouldn't realize how important the linked play was. You aren't Saint fans.
That play is one of the top four plays in the history of the franchise.
But again, this has more to do with making fun of a well known ALS advocate. And he is well known wether you know who he is or not.
Just surf the web and check out the reaction on this story.

Outside of new orleans, he isnt famous or well known.
You cant say, "look him up on the internet. he's famous".
That isnt how fame works. 250,000 views doesnt make one famous.
I feel for the guy. im sure he's the nicest guy to ever step foot in new orleans. and he's suffering from a horrible disease. but that doesnt make him any more special away from louisiana than any other people who have been parodied. the reaction from his camp is a non-reaction. so follow that model and slow your roll.
The firing wasnt about him. it's about business and dumping salary and starting the rebuilding process for the network sooner rather than later. 15 years is a long time and their schtick was stale and close to 3rd fiddle in the market (and expensive because of the prior 15 years)
