The Five Star story is pathetic.

The original downtown was gangbusters.

Then they sold a franchise to a local investor to open east side location.

They also were gangbusters.

Then, management stepped away thinking they could just pick up their dividend check once a month and both locations went bankrupt.

Restaurants don’t run themselves.

They could have 50 locations by now, all over the southeast, just like barbaritos or zaxby’s et al, but instead they got lazy and the brand is no more.

One of the saddest and pathetic small business stories in Athens history.

There are many more sordid details to go along with it, but it would be low class for me to post them.
