Yea, no doubt every release by the news media was designed to avoid panic and not crash the booming Trump/U.S. economy.
I can safely say this: had Obama been in office during this, the media response would have been significantly different.
A realist wouldn’t say such a crazy thing. The media has actually been reasonable during this whole thing considering how serious this is. Had Obama acted like trump, I doubt the media would let him off the hook.

I still have not seen pandemonium, but if anything would cause pandemonium, it would be the invisible illness that can make you not able to breathe.

So we don't know if CV killed the 42yo. They are doing autopsy. Believe it or not, 42yo's drop dead from all kinds of shite on a daily basis. I say this as a 41yo with panic attacks about this exact scenario with my 4yo wandering around my corpse. Horrible. I think I feel one coming on now.

I know. It's called death.
It happens a shite ton and we dont even notice. Not at least until you call it novel.

-Kids aren't going to school
-Parents aren't going to work
-Can't go to a restaurant or a bar
-People cancelling birthday parties and family gatherings
-Parks and other public gathering places shut down
-Businesses going under, people losing their jobs
-People approaching retirement are losing much of the wealth they spent their entire lives earning and socking away
"It's not enough! Anyone who disagrees cares more about Wall Street than human lives!"

And rig still hasn’t posted 100’s links about the basic flu causing massive amounts of ARDS.

Happens a lot more now that China flew this over to the rest of the world.

I’m going with Occam’s razor on this, Rig. Sorry.
I hear you on the anxiety. I never have it over this, but I have it in general. This is just one more possibility.

My whole career has been in Corporate Finance. I make a decent living looking at numbers, finding trends, and noticing Rs and Os most people overlook and then pointing them out to Executives. And one thing I have always told Executives is that any analysis you make is only as good as the assumptions you make. If you're assumptions are off base, the analysis is worthless.
I have stayed quiet on this debate for a while now because the more I looked at the numbers the more I realized there were huge assumptions being made on both sides of the argument. Huge. And no one, and I mean no one, knows how accurate those assumptions are. There are just way too many variables at play and everything is evolving by the minute.
So, keep that in mind. Anyone that is saying they know how this will play out with any certainty is completely full of shite.

I cannot wait for karma to buttfrick you up the arse and you suddenly realize you're a shite human being. Hell, you probably already know you're a shitty fricking person, but you're hellbent on striving for as much misery of others as possible just to justify your frickery and create some sense of joy in yourself at the expense of others.

The medical professionals whose lives are on the line aren't making assumptions. They know what is coming. They're scared shitless. My next door neighbor is on the front line at Phoebe Putney and they have it bad.

They're scared shitless.

If your life is on the line, stay home and quarantine until enough of the population has antibodies from infection that CV is gone. The faster the 95% get out and get those antibodies, the faster your old arse can leave the house and check your mail safely, a-hole.

No. But I've worn a plain old surgical mask take care for a COVID patient. How's your house?

H1N1 woulda been a catastrophy of Whiznot proportions had the vast majority of folks over 65 not been exposed to similar virus in their younger days.

I have been wanting to say it... but I fear the backlash from the mob..
Do you know what I want to say?
Let me draw an analogy from my 12 years of data center experience.... among other responsibilities I manage cabling stock. Say we average 100 cables worth of installations a month. We stay stocked for that and backfill our onsite inventory with periodic orders. Then suddenly there's a high-urgency large installation of millions of dollars of hardware going in, needs 500 cables..... and I have to say sorry, have to order too much stuff, 6 weeks this will need to sit before I get my inventory in. WRONG. That's how you get fired. And that's just servers and cables, nothing life threatening.
The fact these hospitals have so little basic shite on hand is absolutely astounding. I understand not having enough million dollar machines extra, gathering dust in a broom closet... but basic shite like masks and gloves? Are you fricking kidding me?
Alot of hospital administrators, once this is done, will need to answer for this. That's not acceptable.
But there's also another fact. No hospital has actually ran out of anything. If you read the articles claiming this, you'll see buried deep down in paragraph 18 that they still have supplies on hand, but are "preparing for the worst". No hospital has actually ran out. Yet. And if they do, shame on the hospital administrator.
