Understanding The Coronavirus— Infectious Disease Expert Dr. Otto Yang Explains Fact From Fiction
Dr. Otto Yang is a UCLA infectious disease expert who was instrumental in developing AIDS treatments.
Dr. Yang was on with Ari Melber today reporting that he and UCLA researchers received immediate FDA approval to run trials on 4 possible SARS-2 treatments that might be promising.

42,000 US deaths as of April 20. I'm sticking with my prediction of 66,000 for the year.
Will be interesting to see if the states like Georgia and Florida that are really pushing the envelope on opening things up have any "rebound" problems, though.
NYC has canceled all public events through June 30. Excessively cautious??? Don't think that would fly here.

There will be a rebound.
The definition of problems would relate to any individuals denied a ventilator due to supply.
So long as the services are not overrun, people getting sick and some people dying is the normal with covid. Quarantining wouldn't stop this. Just prolong it.

If an effective treatment or a vaccine isn't available quickly we are headed for an unimaginable economic disaster. You ain't seen nothing yet.

Saw an article thta said a vacine is 12-18 months out at the earliest because of testing and trials that will be needed.
I argued with someone that they would rush it through, but the article indicated that it would not be rushed through.

An economic disaster that could be mitigated by abandoning the more draconian measures we are currently attempting.
Because of the vaccine time frame, an extended lockdown is pretty pointless. We can't functionally lock down long enough for the plan to be effective. IMO, this is the disconnect between the epidemiologists and everyone else.

You can only rush human trials so much. We don't want to inject otherwise healthy people with a vaccine unless we're confident that it won't harm them.

Yep, the measures that have been taken so far have been warranted given the ambiguity of the situation. But we have done as much as can be done within a practical timeframe, otherwise, there will be consequences including deaths from prolonged measures which will undermine the world economy.
This is CDC data for the U.S. that they have updated from Feb. 1 through today's date with qualifications that it is not entirely complete but it is the best they can do to date: LINK
If you scroll down to the Table 2, Deaths by Age Group, it provides lucid insight: 91.6% of the people who have died from Covid-19 were 55 years or older. 78.5% of the deaths were 65 and older. Only 3 children have died from Covid-19 so far compared to over 1800 children who died from H1V1.
Bottom line: No doubt measures should be taken to protect older Americans but it would seem prudent to allow healthy working age people to get back to work which will benefit everyone mightily.

In my observation, it is only liberals who are screaming bloody murder at re-opening. I can't think of one single liberal I know that supports any sort of re-opening whatsoever. I can think of 1 in my family that is willing to say maybe June, just maybe.
This tells me it's 100% political for them, they hate Trump so much they are willing to destroy the whole country. They don't give a frick about epidemiology. They don't give a frick about anyone's well-being.
Destroy Trump's economy, install socialism to "take care" of the little people, and simply fricking eat the rich. That's all these evil death lord pieces of shite give a frick about.
And that's the smart ones.
The dumb ones are just following what the Jungle Obelisk tells them, like dumb fricking Congo bonobos picking ticks off each other.

Over 3 years of these people virtue signaling, exuding hate for Trump and his supporters out of every pore and fiber of their being, and saying/doing anything and everything possible to try and shame, demean, and ultimately destroy him/them no matter how exaggerated, dishonest, hypocritical, or outright evil and disgusting it is, or whom else it may hurt in the process, as long as they come out on top, get their agenda in place, and they feel morally righteous and good for thinking they participated/contributed.
TDS in a nutshell.
It doesn't matter what he or anyone does, they are going to twist it into a negative. Dude could come out tomorrow and say we fast-tracked a proven cure and 350 million of them are going out this week, and these TDS fricks would figure out how to claim he did something wrong and spew hate at him and Republican Governors for it.
So get use to it. This is the norm for at least 5 more years. Insane morally bankrupt pieces of shite being insane morally bankrupt pieces of shite.

I knew they were willing to do almost anything, I knew they didn't mind destroying people, destroying individual companies, lying, cheating, etc.. but I didn't think they would be willing to actually destroy the whole country. I didn't think they would go that far.
Meaning- they want Trump gone because they supposedly think he'll destroy the country, so they are willing to destroy the country to prevent Trump from destroying the country.
I wonder if any light bulbs will go off in any dem voter's heads, or if they are too far gone?

Well as I said in February, this isn't bubonic plague in the Middle Ages, where 1 in every 3 infected person died. This isn't even the 1918 influenza pandemic, which had unusually high fatality for people in their prime years (half of all deaths were people age 20-40 and 99% of deaths were people under 65).
Shutting everything down for months is disproportionate to the risk, at least in a lot of places. The media hype has been epic. We didn't have the tools in place to test on a mass scale but you can't just shut down life and wait until you find a cure or manufacture 200 million reliable test kits.
People take risks all the time. Getting on the I-285 speedway or venturing out on GA 400 with people drag racing around you is probably just as much a risk for death as COVID-19 for the average person.

How do you not understand or see the contradiction and realize you know what's really going on in reality, but you still can't stop contradicting yourself to shovel hate at him?

Yes, I realize that. I just didn't realize that it took quite so long. I had not followed the entire process of testing so I was unfamiliar with how long it took. I have no problem with them being careful.

Where did I say Trump caused deaths? There are plenty of valid reasons to dislike Trump that have nothing to do with COVID-19.
It is true that he minimized the outbreak and made moronic statements when it was first brought to the national attention, and these statements are well documented. Just as "liberals" might have their own agendas, we can be fairly sure that Trump and "conservatives" have agendas as well. One could argue that Trump is only interested in the economy as it relates to his reelection, not because he's so interested in how the average person is doing.
By the way, don't want to surprise you but a solid 50% of the population of this country hates Trump. Sounds like you are living in a bubble or have an intolerance problem.

Just for a bit of clarity, the average life expectancy in 1917 (the year prior to the Spanis Flu) was only ~51.
I think less than 5% of the total population was over the age of 65. Many of them were actually socially distancing before it was cool...

C'mon, man. You know the answer to this.
quote:They elected a community organizer to President because of his skin color. And then allowed him to enrich the Establishment Collectivist Globalist class to heights never imagined at a cost of nearly $12 trillion to our futures, all while believing he was a "for the people" Liberal with good intentions. Hell, they still do, because they're blind sheep fricking morons.
but I didn't think they would be willing to actually destroy the whole country. I didn't think they would go that far.
They let the most corrupt Establishment murderous criminal psychotic freak sociopath in the world off the hook for obnoxiously obvious crimes and then hoped she would win the Presidency so she could continue enriching the Establishment at our expense, all because she was a woman.
They then ran multiple soft-coup attempts, trying to oust a duly elected President on the basis of lies and manufactured and fabricated evidence. And not just lies and false narratives, but shite they were actually guilty of.
They have already proven they're capable of anything in their quest for power, wealth, influence, status, and control.
Nothing should surprise you.

Neither the Republicans or Democrats are on your side. Both high ranking members of their parties will do anything to enrich themselves. Look no further than Dick Cheney and the "War on Terror". His oil field service company Halliburton was awarded contracts from the US military which they profited billions off of. Which of course, similar to Hillary who destabilizes Libya, suffered no consequences. If they can make a profit, they'll have no problem fricking you over. Because we, the American people, do not hold our politicians responsible for anything.
