Anyone trying to go to the games this year?

Sorry, but I cannot sit around in the sun in a mask, too much Co2 in my mask gets me light headed after 5 min.

I think students and player family should be it anyway.

Yep.

You don't have to, it's no different than a restaurant. You mask up when you enter the stadium and are walking around but when you're in your seat you can take it off during the game.

I opted out as well. First time since, forever. Without the ability to see all our friends and tailgate plus having an immune compromised family member, it just wasn't an option.

My heart would love to just hand them over the donation and ticket funds but with no actual awareness of how this will play out, will opt to get all the funds back and use those funds for a family vacation.

Next up will be GA-FL and deciding what to do with our rented house and plans there.

It was kinda BS that the only Opt-Out option with a full refund was to have them contact you and give you the pitch.

Other option was donate to the athletic Covid funds...nope.

Because of this event, we will probably opt out forever. Most in my 20 person group will be cancelling for good as well. After 19 years of having seasons tickets, no longer.

Maybe this will help drive down the donation minimum for other fans who have been waiting to get them for years.

We're out this season too. But, my son-in-law here (big Bammer fan) is trying to get us some tickets for the Alabama game.

I don't understand this. You've been a season ticket holder 19 years and are now giving up because of this? You know you're gonna lose your seats right?

Brother there is nothing in the world that is going to decrease the costs for donations/tickets.

Duh! Yes, of course I lose my seats...it’s not a good deal anyways.

You have heard of Covid right?

And UGA is giving back millions in tickets + donations this year.

It’s simple supply and demand, if more people do what I am doing, then yes the donation min goes down. Pretty simple economics.

Happy if it happens for people trying to become season tickets holders.

It is for some, probably not for others. Just depends on your priorities. If you have great seats and have grown a bond wiht the folks around you and have sat wiht the same folks in the same seats for decades then yeah, it's absolutely worht it. If you don't midn showing up on gameday without tickets and haggling with someone on the bridge and have no idea where your seats might be game to game then sure, it's not worth it. To each his own.

Yeah, and? Do you think in February when donations for 2021 are due there is even the slightest remote chance donation levels will decrease? This will be a memory by the 2021 season.

Yes, it is supply and demand. And I think you severely underestimate the demand. For everyone like you that is giving up their season ticktes, there are 500 new people thanking their lucky stars that they now are able to get season tickets. Why in the world would they decrease the donation minimums when there's likely a sevearl year wait list of people waiting to get them?

How can you forecast demand increasing when it’s clear that people opting out now are going to continue opting out in 2021.

Nothing points to higher demand right now. If you have data feel free to share.

Seven couples in my group is already using this as not moving forward with their tickets for good. So...that is several already there.

Monetarily it’s never a good deal to pay for tickets as a donor.

There are no seating area in the stadium + donations for that area that are less than just buying those same tickets on the secondary market or scalping for each game.

The cheapest game for a season ticket holder costs ~$80/per ticket per game.

Shitty games you can purchase for $20 or free depending on the OOC team.

Again, there are no scenarios where it’s cheaper to be a donor.

And none of this includes the person who had to pay $20k for the upfront to even get access to tickets

It's a sample size.

We have put in for a chance for all 4 games hoping to get one. Sounds like we may have a chance to go to more since, according to one on this board, many will be opting out forever. We will see what happens. Also, we will be donating whatever balance is left to the COVID fund and triple our priority points.

Not really. There's math/logic involved in choosing a good sample size to make sure it accurately represents the whole population. It's not just 14 of your friends.

No offense but how out of shape does someone need to be that a flimsy breathable cloth make someone dizzy? You can take it off inside anyways

I just think it's a good year to take a break from in person.

I wouldnt send my kid to school right now either if college age. Just too much up in the air.

As it is, local schools here are sending everyone home for any kid that checks they have had a headache in the past 24 hours for 14 days.

It is pure silliness to me. Not scared of the virus at all so I guess I am more aggravated with the idiocy of those creating all the arbitrary and unfair policy around it.

We have 18 people in our group. Most get 4 tickets and a few get 2. We brought our children, and more recently our grandchildren. We all tailgated together at home games and many of us went to at least one away game and stayed together. All but a couple have opted out this year and asked for their donations back. Some of us will donate some back to the general scholarship fund and I am sending some to the equestrian program.
