Very first post I clicked:

quote:

Freshman QB. Guess how many yards they average per game passing? I already looked it up for you. They are 99th in country averaging 170/game. Uhhhhhhhhhhh. That’s worse than mediocre. Prediction: it will not be difficult to make them one dimension. And they’ll take shots downfield, but Fromm won’t be able to make us pay. (Unless he Trevor Knights is, then it doesn’t matter anyway. We lose.) Make them one dimensional and we win. Despite our tackling woes. Best case scenario for us was a team with one dimensional offense. Will hide our defensive questions. We got this.

According to them all they have to do is shut down our running game.

I'd register if I could, but the site is being a bitch

They seem a little over-confident about their defense's ability to slow down the run game.

They've given up 200+ on the ground 4 times already, and think an extra man in the box will help (as if every team hasn't tried that on our schedule )

What an astute analysis - nothing like measuring passing productivity by yards per game without looking up attempts per game and QBR. At the end of the day though, what can you really expect....most of their fans are assuming they will stomp us and are looking forward to Clemson/Bama.

They have tackling problems. That's not good for Boomer.

This, as good as their offense it won't mean shite if we're going on long TD drives.

It's going to come down to how well our defense can stack up against their offense

We play SEC defenses that tried this on us...

Let's look at how well Fromm does on 3rd down (#2 in country in conversion %). Let's look at his yards/att #6 in the country. His rating in the country #6.

Oklahoma's rush defense....40th in the country. Go ahead and bring up another safety, just means when we get to the 2nd level we are off to the races.

This should be a good game and will be a good match-up, but they are naïve

PS - don't look now, but someone is #2 in the country in pass defense....

Kinda worried. They’re gonna have to all our blitz the whole game and make baker question his life at all times.

Literally the only team to shut down the running game was Auburn at Jordan Hare with a team that was geeked up out of their minds.

Also the Auburn front 4 are the best front 4 in the nation (Clemson might be close). OU doesn't have anywhere close to that talent in their front 4.

They don’t seem to know much about our run game or football in general...maybe they didn’t see what Fromm did against auburn? He doesn’t have to throw deep. I loved seeing him actually go through progressions and check down to the RB for good pickups.
One thing I can guarantee Auburn’s D > OKlahomas D

I heard something about tackling problems, you can’t arm tackle Chubb/Michel/Swift and win that matchup.

“On ESPN you hear them talking about how UGA has a stable of RBs. LOL, so do we, and our QB can complete a forward pass consistently. Congrats UGA on winning he SEC for the first time in 12 years, but this is as far as you go. Sorry.”

Never heard of their backs though.

They have Trey Sermon, who didn't come to UGA last year because he wasn't good enough to get playing time. So that should tell you something.

He has looked pretty good this year though.

Does he like to run inside or on the edge?

Trey Sermon had an offer from UGA and went to Sprayberry ... he's good... not UGA backfield good or even Kerryon Johnson good... but he's probably better than Kam Martin at Auburn at least. Don't know enough about the other guy (Anderson)... came out of HS as an "All Purpose Back" but listed at 6'2" 220ish now... seems to do well catching the ball out of the backfield. Going to have to be very careful on RB Wheel routes. In watching the ISU game, they use RBs as receiving threats down field frequently.
