Of course, losing to Michigan will do that…

Only Arkansas has had fewer home night games since 2021.

I assume you mean fewer home night games?

It is crazy that LSU will have had 3 home night games within 5 weeks

Also, sidenote, that is loaded fricking schedule holy shite

Texas v Tenn
UGA v OK
Lsu v TAM
OM V UF

In the last 5 years, we have had 10 home night games.

LSU has had 30… 83% of the time their home games are at night.

If you go back 10 years, we are even worse off.

I wonder how much of that is us just getting fricked like the SEC likes to do to us, and how much is kirby not really vocalizing for any better? Kirby has publicly said many times he likes the early games so he can get done early and spend time with recruits. Other schools like LSU base their entire identity around it and wont' shut up about it. I have to think that if Kirby really truly wanted more night games we'd have a few more.

I like the 3:30 slot the best. Late enough for the crowd to be drunk and crazy. The second half is still in the dark in the later half of the season. The way Sanford is set up… I don’t have to tell yall this but my gawd it’s hot on the visiting side from 3-5 oclock.

so do I, you get the best mix of everything you'd want in a football day, IMO.

-can go at your own pace early in the day depending on how much hanging out/tailgating you wanna do
-Get to watch almost all of the good noon game(s)
-Plenty of time for the crowd to be nice and lathered up.
-Usually temperatures are a lot more comfy especially second half, and as mentioned you get darkness by 4Q anyway depending on how late in the year it is
-Depending on where you live you still get home in time to watch the good night games

I don't like night games because I can't sleep when it's over, whether we win or lose. And I drink way too much when we play night games. I agree 3:30 is the perfect time slot.

Maybe one advantage of night games is that you get a younger crowd that makes more noise. I suspect a lot of older folks don't like the night games. They want to be home in the easy chair by 9pm.

And that's been their tradition and identity since the 60's not ours.

No doubt the case before TV called the shots but are you sure that's the case the last 5 years? I hear the LSU fans continually bitching about their lack of night games because of TV

I don't like waiting all day for the game.

This past weekend, one of my alma maters kicked off at 11:00 AM Eastern. I slept late, had a nice breakfast, and then it was time for kickoff. It was glorious.

The brutal climate in Baton Rouge is another legitimate reason for night games, traditionally.

So the rest of us should accept other kickoff times and give LSU the favorable time slot and atmosphere just because?

I didn’t independently verify this, admittedly. But it was a perfect use case for AI and that’s what it gave me.

LSU fans think every kickoff in BR should be at night. Doesn’t mean it’s not already disproportionately the case

What's their record vs SEC teams at night the last 5 years?

"give?" I don't anyone is giving them anything. Its been the reality of LSU football for 60 to 70+ years.

Sorry, don't think it's an advantage I'm gonna worry about. I've seen UGA teams win at night down there and get their arse kicked during the day ('03 and '18) come to mind.

The number is pretty close but it does include 6:00/6:30 games as well.

No idea, I’d guess it’s alright? LSU has not been necessarily world-beaters these last 5 years.

That doesn’t mean playing in front of a more raucous environment isn’t an advantage for them.

Your original question implied LSU deserves night kickoffs because it’s who they are.

Clearly someone other than LSU themselves is in agreement, hence the 83%. I’m just arguing somewhere along the way it got pretty disproportionate.

However, the more I hear, it may be a UGA/Kirby choice…. Which is asinine but whatever

We seem to do better in 3:30 home games anyway.

Alabama was a night game. The Missouri game a few years ago when they gave us so much hell was a night game. The Tennessee game when they were ranked #1 was a 3:30 game.

The best time of day IMO.

Getting back to the hotel around 1pm is not fine and a flight out the next morning makes it worse.
