In the SEC.

Not Saban. Not Spur. Not Meyer.

Can Kirby be the first?

EDIT- I was wrong , a-hole host on 680 sitting in for Chernoff lied to me.

Kirby will be the first. And the unpopular thing to say that data shows to be true is that the East isn’t that far behind the west anymore.

Spurrier won the division 5 years in a row (1992-1996).

Defense is too good to skip this year and I have to believe the offense will in prove if not for a mobile QB alone.

It will come down to how well our offense improves. I think our defense will be awesome and Newnan will be fine. But you have to think with us getting spoiled with swift, Michel and chubb it will have some effect. Yes we have talented guys ..but how good can they really be.. and also our recievers. Pickens can't do it by himself. We were atrocious when cager went down

He probably left out the qualifier "this century."

The fact that he's being mentioned among the top five in some pre-season Heisman lists and there are people like Richt predicting that he'll be the best QB in the SEC makes me wonder. I also see the advanced stats that claim to show he's the best returning QB in the conference...without having played in the conference.

Shouldn't we be just a little apprehensive? I mean, doing it against SEC teams every week is just not the same.

Then again, Smart says they were evaluating as many as three dozen quarterbacks for the Fromm early exit scenario. They clearly held Newman in high regard.

I think what he meant to say was, "No SEC has won an SEC division 4 times in a row without winning a National Championship."

No, he was talking about it in the context of gambling and putting all his chips on uf for winning the east. Literally betting in vegas for uf to win the east "because nobody has ever won div 4 times" ...

So he was assuming an incorrect causal relationship, and he was still wrong about the original premise . . .

Yep, sounds something like a moron to me.

Oh I definitely agree, the way he is being hyped up and haven't even hit the field yet for us. We should be apprehensive. I don't expect him to be another Lambert for us. But I think he should be at least good for us. He has talent from the videos I have seen. We all will find out soon about him ..

to you for leaving this up unedited and owning a reasonable mistake (given that it was said on the radio)

Zinno has always been an idiot on college football.

The lack of quality college football talking heads on local radio is mindnumbing.
