Again, if it's an isolated incident and his were the only time someone on the team got caught, that's a totally different situation.

There are over two dozen since the accident after the 2022 parade that killed Willock & LeCroy.

Vox, your point is valid. Very valid. I just wonder if it resonates in the current climate of players all having high end fast cars with accessories. I have had conversations with some friends still involved and the players are still collectively seen as “knuckleheads” by the staff. I think the portal and the $ actually make this even harder to manage. I am not excusing it. In fact, I find it embarrassing that it is associated to such a degree with my school.

Unfortunately, it appears that the only sort of response that's going to get the attention of the players is to show them the exit.

They've had meetings. The coaches have talked with them, cried with them, prayed with them. Brought in guest speakers.

None of that matters, based on the fact that the results haven't changed.

The hard line is the only route left.

Have to wait for the incident report obviously, but reckless driving makes it appear as if he wasn't just cruising over the speed limit but rather driving like a nut, whether it was weaving or tailgating or both.

Pretty sure it’s because he was going over the “maximum” limit….so they try and tack shite on.

Good gosh, dude, really? What were the circumstances? Did he crash through the awning of a daycare or something? (I’ve only seen the charges.)

Edit : nm I see now 107 mph.Stupid, probably stilltoo harsh to boot him if he’s been a good kid.

LOL.

“Maximum limits” is a the actual name of the speeding code section: 40-6-181 OCGA.

If you get a speeding ticket for 11 over or 51 over, it’s still “maximum limits” under the law.

Sounds like someone's vehicle needs to be made an example of and the next kid that does this gets his car caved in by the other teammates with sledghammers

I was about to say earlier that the loop is a race track for a lot of people.

I don't know where that apartment was for the Easley incident, but the buildings reminded me of the Willock/Lecroy crash.

That's Athens Ridge. It's on the south bank of McNutt Creek in Oconee County.

10 over the limit is bad. Over that and it should be jail time.

Nah. 90mph on I75 south of Valdosta is okay if you have normal processing skills and reflexes.

On those Georgia rural stretches of interstates with light traffic my cruise control is set at 84 mph, plenty of speed traps but they are looking for the "super speeders" going over 85.

I've blown through the speed traps going 84 in a 70 and have yet to get pulled over.

Because every few minutes someone will blow right by me going 100, easy pickens and good revenue for the cops.
