Collectively, not the NCAA alone

The NCAA makes almost nothing off CFB

Why do folks keep repeating this?
They have nothing to do with TV rights, bowl games or the CFB playoffs or the old BCS.

How do you reconcile that with the nearly 3 million dollars Mark Emmert made this year? Where does all that money come from given that the NCAA are just bureaucrats who don’t provide services or produce goods?

And I retract my “collectively” comment. I should have stuck to my guns. The NCAA does earn more than a billion, individually. From 2017

And it’s not just the NCAA, like I said. It’s the entire symbiosis of leach organizations capitalizing on unpaid labor.

To reiterate, I don’t think student athletes should be paid. But I sure as hell don’t think a bunch of do-nothing crooks should get rich off of them either.

The vast majority of NCAA income comes from the NCAA basketball tournament, which is why every pic in your linked article is of college hoops. I'm no fan of the NCAA but they aren't getting rich off of college football.

And for the record, your posted article states that $560M of the $1B was distributed among NCAA schools.

Did ya read your own article? Almost all their money comes March
Madness TV rights and they also claim almost all those funds are redistributed among member institutions.

We all get this but if this was a clear quid pro quo than its a blatant violation and no doubt investigated.

He said there's no doubt the NCAA will investigate an HBCU after the HBCU league signs its first 5* football player.

That's funny shite, man.

Jimbo said it best...this has been going on forever it's just that now it can be out in the open. I, personally, don't like it. I think the players should get paid but this NIL stuff is garbage and will have a tremendous impact on NCAAF

This really is the end of amateur college athletics, and you seem absurdly nonchalant about it.

THIS is not the death of “amateur” college athletics. It died decades ago. The stench is only now reaching your nostrils.

I’m nonchalant about it because I didn’t get into college football because of amateurism. I got into it because I got into football and Georgia was where it started.
