Saban has won 3 of the last 4 NC's. Oh and you suck at trolling.

Why do you guys keep pussying around? Just come out and say that Bama getting played in the first half of the Sugar Bowl proves that CMR isn't that bad. We can then debate ideas.

This veiled sarcasm is weak.

Has nothing to do with how good or bad CMR is. Has more to do with the myth that there is a perfect coach who can magically bring a MNC to UGA. At least, that's how I see it.

Both of these coaches have won MNC's.

You're like the guys who saw Buster Douglas punch out Tyson and said "See! I knew he was a pussy!"

Meanwhile...Henry scores a TD.

if Bama pulls this out does that prove that maybe coaches matter?

Sabans team is playing in the sugar bowl right now. Something we haven't done in 6 years (or any other bcs bowl). But whatever makes ya feel better.

Just like you can't compare CMR to CNS, you can't compare the two teams. Give Alabama the same injuries to the same skill players and you might seem similar results.

That's it, 9 years without a conf title all due to bad luck.

Luck has something to do with it. So does having a very strong conference for the past decade. You can't just will a championship, you know.

I think a lot of you look at Alabama and have the impression that it is just easy to win a MNC so long as you have the right coach. That's just not the case. You have to have the right combination of players, schedule, coaches, conditioning, calls by the refs, and the ball bouncing your way to win it.

Football is a complex sport and you can't reduce it down to one man (the coach) and call it good.

This is true, look at Auburn this year. That's why most get so fusturated with Richt for not making an obvious fire (Willie, Grantham, Lakatos. There's enough obstacles to making it to the top without making your own;

Sure there are a lot of factors but you can't ignore a trend. The sample size is plenty big enough. 9 years without a conf title. 6 years no bcs bowl, lost 3 of last 4 bowl games. It's staring you in the face. You have a right to your opinion but it's clear as day to me. The defense didn't improve this year and we are downgrading at qb. Next year won't be as good as this year. I love the dawgs but that's the way I see it playing out. Hope I'm wrong but I doubt it.

And when I say didn't improve I mean throughout the year. I didn't expect them to be better than last year but they underperformed last year too.

Those stats don't tell the whole story, though. Look who won the SEC for the past several years: the eventual MNC. It's not exactly a cake walk.

Last year we were arguably the 2nd best team in the country, much less the SEC, but we got snubbed for a BCS game because we got the unfortunate privilege of losing to the MNC in the SECCG.

Right, we lost to the eventual champion. So did a lot of other teams. It's not badge if honor to me because we lost. If our defense had played up to potential they would've won. I truly believe uga was the more talented team last year than Bama but as usual didn't perform as such. There will always be a lot of factors that contribute to a season...and luck is usually one of them. Look at 2008, another absolutely loaded team that underperformed. It's our MO and not just negadawgs see it. The trend is what it is, we can pull it apart and find lots of excuses but the results over time ultimately tell the story. I can tell we just see this differently so agree to disagree.

Urban Meyer won it twice with Tebow, but hasn't won it since. He must not be a good coach. Or maybe Tebow was the difference there. Chizik is a joke, but he had Cam and won it. He was fired a few seasons later. Who does that? Someone who isn't a great coach but who got lucky with a player who was a game-changer.

Back to my original point: it isn't always the coach that is responsible for a MNC. It is a combination of factors. UGA just hasn't had the cards to win it all.

What cards were we missing in 2007, 2008, and 2012?
