Not sure. But how often do you get arrested for just speeding? Even super speeders are usually just a ticket right?

Imagine how small and empty your life is if you scour the police reports for teenaged boys getting speeding tickets for your job.

I'm kind of tired of the fan reaction to this to be honest.

1) these kids are 19-21 years old and driving hemi's.

2) give a kid money and this is what you get.

Honestly. Who here hasn't had a moving violation? Did you have 400-700 horsepower at the time?

Done all this at 24 with a heads and cam C5 Corvette 93 in a 55 cop wrote it for 73 in a 55 because I stopped right away and he didn't want extra paperwork.

30 mph over the speed limit is considered reclass driving and can get you arrested.

I had a little VW freshmen year, and got my license suspended for going 85 in a 45 on my way home from Athens.

Actually turned out great because I didn't have to be a DD for a year.

I can see arresting someone for 90 in a 45. Thats not safe for anyone on the road.

Uber is missing a major opportunity by not setting up a NIL collective in Athens.

My son saved up his money and bought a 2003 Nissan 350Z for $2900. He fixed it up for about another $1k. Did about another $1000 with regular maintenance (brakes/tires).
Within 12 months he had a superspeeder ticket. He sold the car less than 2 weeks later. He didn't trust himself with that much power. He knew it would happen again.

I live in Dawsonville (think Bill and Chase). Everyone of my son's friends has either 3 moving violations on their record or have flipped vehicles and run into trees.

My son pays his own auto insurance. In my head, that may have saved his life with the stupid shite that teenagers do.

To his credit, he sold the Z for $7k. I call it falling upwards.

I laughed. I like the sarcasm.

It's just perspective. I'm probably not the majority opinion on the subject. I was just explaining context.

Young adults and fast cars are not new. But it can be easy to forget what our circle of friends used to do in them.

When I turned 16 I got a new civic (Thanks mom and dad). I drove it like a Maserati. But you bet your arse the first time I got pulled over and got a warning I started driving like grandma because I was suddenly more aware/ afraid of getting in trouble etc. I can only imagine if I had a friend die from bad driving choices I would have started driving even more cautiously. Sure, the fear subsided after awhile but brother you got an actual ticket going 20 over last week and now you’re going 45 over. Give me a break. Some people have to learn the hard way.

I think it is terrible judgment and dangerous to drive 90 in a 45. I also think making a living off reporting this is sad.

They need to do better.

With greater opportunity comes greater expectations.
