I like richt, seems like a nice guy and is good coach. I would love to see him get over that hump and build a truly great team to bring home an SEC champ and a playoff birth at the least. I have been convinced for probably 5 years now that he wouldn't ever get there. 2012 was so close I thought maybe he's going to prove doubters like me wrong. But I'm not wrong. He's not going to improve this team beyond an occasional division champ at best. I hope he retires at the end of the season, because I'd hate to see him get fired. But if he doesn't retire, that's exactly what should happen.

I would hope we end up like Texas, too. Able to field a disciplined team and actually beat a team in the top ten. I feel ya.

But no, we'll stick with Richt. He'll continue to let his players bark at the opposition before games, try to start fights, and play undisciplined ball. We'll continue to sit at home while shitty teams like Missouri and Florida represent the SEC in the East. We'll always be "next year! university". Richt is awesome.

God you're all morons. Have you seen how ungodly terrible Texas has been? They have lost two games due to special teams errors that would have all y'all idiots on this board committing seppuku. Disciplined team, my arse.

They got lucky. If Texas's situation is so much better than ours, go root for them. We won't miss you.

It's funny isn't it? The people who crow the loudest are the Walmart fans who really only watch UGA play and even then only watch to have an excuse to wear their AJ Green jersey and drink Natural light. Bear them no mind.

You mean special team errors like that punt block against Alabama, or the constant squib kicks and 20 yard punts we're so good at?

Yep. We got that covered, too.

Special teams errors. Seriously. LINK

Sure, that's exactly what it is. No way they actually have strong feelings for their alma mater and just have a different opinion of the direction the program should take. Not at all. That just wouldn't be trashy enough to fit your narrative.

The fact that you have to resort to the 'sidewalk fan' comment is weak shite.

I don't know how our knowing this was a 3 or 4 loss season in August has any bearing on Richt's job security and our going 8-4.

All programs go through rebuilding seasons. That is to be expected. With our easy schedule 8-4 is a respectable rebuilding record. We aren't rebuilding because we have not been built in 10 years. Good programs have rebuilding seasons...bad programs have rebuilding decades.

I would be shocked if more than a few fans were calling for Richts head after losing to UT and Bama if we had won the SEC east the last 2 years. The number of people calling for his job would be 0 if we had won the national title in 2012. A couple of 7-5 years after that would be acceptable....we would be rebuilding. What exactly are we rebuilding on this year? A Belk Bowl win?

We are not rebuilding....because we have never been built in the last 10'years. If we had won anything of significance in that period we would acceptable few bad years....but when every season is the same you don't get a pass for repeating the same mistakes that you have made for 10 years that have kept you from having a better season.

It is the programs 8-9 win seasons expectations in August every year that should cost Richt his job.....

That's exactly what Dooley did his entire career. He would win the SEC and then have a couple of bad years and then win another. He had some terrible seasons when rebuilding but would follow those up with a great team. That's what has everyone so frustrated now. 10 years since the last SEC title.

That's rich.

And timing wouldn't have anything to do with it. Mack Brown left that program loaded and Strong ran off every good player to make a statement.

Maybe if myself and other alumni crowed as loud as the walmart fans, we'd have won something of substance in the past ten years instead of being satisfied with average to above average.

As much a fan of UGA as I am, if Richt were to get canned, I kind of hope we do end up like a Texas. Just to shut all these stupid frickers up. The level of stupid in this board is ridiculous.

The funny thing is that Texas is where they are because they didn't Fire their coach sooner.

Texas is where they are because of their own arrogance. They let Mack Brown let the players run the show on the 40 acres. Then they brought in a coach that actually disliked that kind of thing, so he ended up having to blow up the program to prove his point. All this time, I sincerely doubt even a tenth of the boosters were behind him. There is too much of entitled culture for football heroes in that state for the boosters to think differently.

Oh, and they just beat an undefeated top ten team yesterday.

So you would trade our team and/or coach for Texas'? I mean...I guess that would give you even more ways to scream for a Head Coaches head since they are 1-4.

And since recent titles are your measuring stick, I think we could probably get Gene Chizik. He's available, is he not?

Could end up like Florida or Michigan. Never know until it happens. UGA is a great job just because of the talent all around the general area.

One thing for certain the program has become stagnant.

Texas is UGA's bigger brother. Both historically underachieve & are generally apathetic about making coaching changes. It's natural selection, the weak and dumb get remain at the bottom of the food chain. This is how we allow ourselves to be.

How is it not true? We're good for 7-10 wins most years sprinkled with an occasional 11-3 season. We've been so far for 15 years. Trees grow faster.
