As much a fan of UGA as I am, if Richt were to get canned, I kind of hope we do end up like a Texas. Just to shut all these stupid frickers up. The level of stupid in this board is ridiculous.

People are just venting. They are well aware Richt and Co. are here for the long run.

Mentioned this last week to the Richt haters. It scares the shite out of me.

It's all mindless venting. When you are playing 20-30 freshmen in a season on a team you will obviously have a few bad days.

My only concern is CMR didn't seem like himself when interviewed and somewhat dyslexic in his line of thought. I hope nothing is wrong with him.

At least Texas has won a title recently. Oh, and they just beat an undefeated top ten team yesterday.

We lost to an unranked team on a 3 game skid.

Lol at trying to make Texas' situation seem better than ours at this point in time.

No question those teams made great hires and are two of the most storied programs in college football history so I don't think it's too surprising given the talent base and tradition that they made such a quick turnaround.

I just don't think we should fire Richt now when most reasonable people thought this season was a 9-3 year at best case scenario with new QB, offensive coordinator, etc. I want to wait and see what happens with Eason before anything happens to CMR assuming we finish out this year with a decent record.

I was a little bent myself when I said it originally and could have worded it in a kinder manner. Hopefully nothing's wrong and it was just tension and stress buildup.

Somebody ought to follow up on it JIC.

A lot of people's issue, at least mine, isn't the record or the fact that we lose games, but how and who we lose to.

No matter who we have as coach, we won't win every game. And we will still have the occasional face plant. When you play a game with 18-22 year olds, that's a given.

But when you can go into every season and damn near guarantee that the team will choke in a game against an inferior team at least once or twice and get beaten by 2+ TDs in another, that's a problem. It's so routine you can set your watch by it.

if we did end up like Texas after Mark's dismissal, it would mean the dismissal was done way too late. your a dumbass.

Why would we end up like Texas? Would kids in high school in Georgia just all of a sudden go to shite? Would all the GA football players just go to different colleges other than UGA?

Seems like you are the idiot.

Also with Richt at the helm, you think a kid would want to come to UGA if they want to win the SEC or a NC? No, our track record dictates that this won't happen with Richt.

In fairness recruits come into a program for far different reasons than the fans gravitate toward it.

Factors such as development/coaching, playing time, NFL placement history (for those who would be considered) all come into play.

Five games into the season leaves a lot of tape out there for other teams to watch and while it should work both ways it's been working against us for the last two weeks.

Texas will win natty before Georgia and just won a big game. Richt 's best win this year is South Carolina.

No one said anything about this. I just said if Richt leaves or gets fired, will the state of GA stop producing high school recruits? And if not, then will these high school recruits choose any other school except UGA, b/c Richt is gone?

OP acts like if Richt is gone, then no one will come to UGA will be worth a damn. We have a bunch of studs already at UGA, but they aren't worth a damn with Richt.

The NFL placement will still be a big factor for UGA, as we are one of the top teams in the nation at putting players in the NFL. My point is if Richt gets fired (fingers crossed), then we still can get the same recruits we have been getting. GA isn't a barren wasteland like Tenn is, and even still Tenn has had our number the past few years.

I'm venting. I'm emotionally involved in this program and it hurts when we lose like this.

I try to take my emotions out of it, but like many of you I'm sure, it's not that simple to detach.
