How is it apples and oranges? I used the same metrics.

Many of the comments are how decimated the team was due to the attrition. I think this shows that every team has attrition at a pretty hig rate. The benefit is you can recruit/sign more the next year. I am not stating the Bama class is the same as ours. I am stating that they also had attrition due to transfer at a high rate, lost a few to the NFL, and have a few that don't contribute.

Well of course, you can say that exact same sentence about a frick ton of football teams. But again it's not really a big deal at bama because they just continue to roll in 5* top rated players at every single position so they just keep on rolling as usual. When it happens to us, we have to move people to unnatural positions, start walkons, and pray that that under the radar 3* guy can carry his weight. These 2 situations aren't close.

The point was that this 2013 class was Smart's undoing this year...according to the posters. When isolated, it looks pretty bad, but compared to the same class of the National Champs it doesn't look outrageous or season crippling. Agree?

It is not where we want to be by any means... I get that I promise.

Well, taking absolutely nothing else into account yes I agree that they both have a lot of attrition and non-contributors. But that doesn't nearly tell the tale of where we're at.

You can't pin all the blame on any one single thing, but it's pretty clear that the utter failure of that class is a major and I mean MAJOR reason that we're going to be average at best this year adn that has nothing to do with kirby.

We have 5 starters from that class and two grad transfers starting. One of them was a starter for Bama last year. It's not like there are no older starters on the team.

Every team has frickn problems and it is the coach's job to work through them.

Next point: How many 4 & 5 star DL are in each recruiting class? How many are on the current roster? If you go next level in depth analysis, the Dawgs are fckn stacked

5 out of 24 positions are starters in what should be our Senior/RSJr class. That's not very good, is it?

We have a lot of young talent, and over the next 2 yeras should have a ton more. I feel good about where we'll be as a program in 2-3 years but that's irrelevant right now.

Objectively, Bama's 2013 class looks way better than UGA's, and it shows. Their seniors on the whole are way better football players than ours are. A lot of their backups would probably play a lot for us.

Idk but I take solace in the fact that as awful as we've been in that given time frame it still doesn't' hold a candle to the ineptitude on display in the flats.

I think it needs to be more balanced. I'd say 8 SR/RsJR would be ideal with 4 more in the two deep. Throw in a few RsSRs too. Do we have any?

One of the benefits of the attrition is getting grad transfers. Add that and we are at 7 this year. Still not ideal, but it's not staggering or team killing.

It should also be note that Kirbs did run off a Starter from this class. Maybe it was deserved, but it wasn't necessarily a hand he was dealt.

Pyke and Catalina. Pyke's probably the only non-graduate transfer senior we have with a decent chance to stick in the NFL.

And he'll do it at his natural position at guard, yet he's being forced out of position in '16 due to our dreadful OL recruiting the last 5 years.
