sweet. we both know the rules. Now answer the question - why do you think we wouldn't be communicating with recruits during the dead period?

Kirby hire may already be paying dividends with recruiting.

t's probably going to be a little awkward in Tuscaloosa for Kirby's remaining time, especially if the rumors of Kirby wanting to take Cochran and some other staff with him here, doubt Saban is going to be okay and chill with that. That combined with how many of the same recruits both schools are after could make things tense over there,

^^^ THIS

CKS wants to surround himself with staff he knows. That staff is still working for CNS. How can Smart leave Bama and Saban with respect and still take some of his boys with him.

How it shakes out now is also complicated by Boom now tied to SC possibly plus the Pruitt/ open Bama D/C / open Barn D/C carousel.

*Plus Boom who he knows but obviously is not coaching with Saban right now.

You can talk on the phone and have written communication during the dead period.....now you know the rules.

I would guess Kirby was given a Georgia cell phone with unlimited minutes and texting, and a list of every commit and those we still want to get. He likely is in contact with each 3 times a day. Georgia might even have some staff in Tuscaloosa working with him on this.

So 3 days after Richt is fired we know who the next HC will be, and he is a good hire.
So what in the last few days indicates Georgia is not organized?

Wut?

Richt was let go Sunday 11/29. We knew who the next HC would be by Wednesday 12/2. What indicators are you looking at exactly?

So no signed coach. Rumor is a coordinator who road the coattails of saban is the new coach. No contract. Old coach who was going to be taking a job with the ga administration is taking a new job. Oh yeah he was going to coach our bowl game before he just went to pasture. Now he is not. New unsigned coach will be at ga after he gets his money from one of our competitors who destroyed us this year. Helping bama be better than ga. But he has an unlimited phone. Do you all take money or bjs to support this shite

Smart announced Sunday/Monday. Announces staff Monday/Tuesday. Smart and the staff on the road/phone etc recruiting until dead period. Dead period on the phone/text.

Free publicity (a bunch of it from the talking heads and during the games - priceless). We will be OK especially if Eason still comes and even if he doesn't.

Stay the course, it will be fine.

3 days after the old coach is let go every news agency in the country is reporting that Kirby Smart will be announced as the new UGA HC after the SEC CG, but you're not happy because he doesn't have a signed contract 2 days before his current team plays in that conference championship game...

Old coach was offered the opportunity to coach the bowl game. That old coach accepted it, but then he, the old coach, changed his plans. In what universe are the actions of a former employee indicative of his former employer?

You're right 4 days into the post Richt era the new coach does not have a signed contract won't be on campus at UGA until January. Wouldn't it be awesome if we had something which allowed a person in Tuscaloosa to instantly connect with anyone in the world?

Helping bama to be better than UGA? Ok, so? Does Georgia still have any any football matchups with Alabama this season that I don't know about? Or are you saying that being there for 1 month to game plan for the 2015 post season will somehow help Alabama be better than Georgia 10 months from now when the 2016 season kicks off?

We're only 4 days into the post Richt era just chill. Think back 16 years ago. Jim Donnan was fired a few days after the GT game, and we didn't have our new coach in place until after Christmas. Actually he wasn't even on campus yet, he still had a bowl game to coach a week later. Georgia has moved very quickly on this compared to a lot of other instances, something which shows this was not one big cluster. Smart will have all the tools in the world in order to perform the job he would be doing in Athens while he remains in Tuscaloosa to help with that team's post season. Assisting Alabama for their next 2 to 3 games just means he has to spend extra time at the office this month.

To me its these factors that make this situation different from guys like Herman coaching OSU through the championship, I doubt OSU and Houston were recruiting the same 5 star guys.

Shows you how important Kirby is to Bama, IYAM. If Saban is willing to allow him to do that while also helping him win championships, I feel that's a good sign of how much Saban values KS.
