Didn't realize that pickles and honey mustard on fried chicken was particular to Georgia.
Anybody try this yet?
I'm normally a Church's man, but am always looking for ways to support the state.

I'm gonna get a bucket of it for the Daytona 500. Georgia Gold.

More of a SC thing with the mustard based BBQ (even with a little honey mixed with the mustard). Granted, SC never had a gold rush like Georgia did, so it's a bit of a quandary.
Honestly, the only time I've liked pickles on my chicken was when I got Hot Chicken last time I was in Nashville.

Take the pickle off a chik-fila sandwich and their kingdom disappears. It's the secret key to their whole empire if you think hard about it.

Only took 43 ounces of Gold to cover the atl government dome. 43 ounces of Gold could fit in your back pockets.
Current Gold price - $1257 per ounce
Gold price when atl gvt. shrine was built (1958) - $35 per ounce

I've heard the chicken at Chick-fil-A is soaked in dill pickle juice as well.

Pressure cookers are their secret. That and the batter is pretty good.
Trust me...if they soaked them in pickle juice I'd know it.

When I go to Chik-fila I order them with extra pickles. And they actually put a little sticker on the foil bag thing that says "extra pickles". And I shite you not, the manager pushes the drive thru girl out of the way to hand you the bag and gives you a nod that translates about how he knows you get it. and he's giving you respect with that nod. It's real.

True story. In the 80's I was walking the streets of Atlanta and a stranger came up to me, pointed to the dome, and asked me did I know where the gold on the dome came from. I told him no and he said that the gold came from Africa.
It turned out this this wasn't true: the Georgia gold, in fact came from Georgia. LINK LINK

Litigator, You're an honest middle of the road kind of guy. Can you go to chik fil a tomorrow and order one with extra pickles and report back whether you get a sticker and "the nod"?

Ok, you've piqued my interest with this thread. I''ll follow through with this experiment and will report back tomorrow.

Don't worry. It's just a legend..
When the Confederate government disbanded in Washington GA their gold was plucked piece by piece by vandals and vagrants. and stuff.
Ther're definitely no generational secret societies that guard it with their lives waiting for when the time is right to use it to fund the next secession. That sounds almost insane. Sleep tight.

Not true. Worked there in high school. Battered fresh every day, peanut oil and a pressure cooker that only cooks chicken. That's the ticket.

Can't speak to the "nod", but I always do this as well. What it definitely gets you, every time, is fresh chicken. They don't just pull an old one off the warmer and put more pickles on it. NO. They make you a brand-damn-spankin' new sandwich.
