I say yes.

GSU, the other GSU, KSU. Valdosta. Savannah State.

Why are we supporting and propping up the shite schools from the other states? Keep it in the Georgia university system.

It's not Monopoly money. It's real money, it is our money.

That's my advanced opinion.

I think playing Georgia State would be a much more interesting draw than playing Murray State or some of the other cupcakes.

Especially after recent events.

I don’t feel a need to prop up those schools either

The only potential issue is you don't wanna give those schools a big stage because they could recruit against you, but I think that's an outdated opinion. UGA and KSU aren't recruiting against each other. In fact, with modern transfer rules, we could actually use those schools as our own personal jucos, like farm teams in baseball, etc. ... if we play it right...

This is my only issue... No reason to help those schools achieve relevance. It's not a violent opposition, but obviously allowing one of those programs to sneak up and steal a win would be a big mistake.

Is Ga Southern still running the triple option? I'll pass on them if yes.

So there's five right?

GSU
GA So
KSU
Valdosta St
Sav St

We only get 2 or three a year because our annual GT game and the other P5 home/aways on the docket.

So you only see each of those teams every other year or every three years. It wouldn't be an annual stage for any of them.

Big no for Southern and Kennesaw.

Both of them still run a version of the option, and there is no reason for us to play against that offense.

I could care less about the rest, but it would be beyond stupid to play a D2 or smaller(Valdosta, Savannah).

I'm not opposed to having these in-state.

But I wouldnt pressure the AD or coach.
Let them take care of who they want to take care of. It is real money. Maybe their staffs can give us a heads up on an overlooked recruit. That probably isnt needed in state.

The Vandy opener followed by two cup cakes in a row is the most garbage opening to a UGA season I can ever remember. So, I don';t care where the cupcakes come from as long as we schedule less of them in the future. I'm now solidly on board with a 9 game SEC schedule.

Especially when you consider that the playoff and "business decisions" have completely destroyed and sucked the fun out of bowl season, the retards in charge might want to actually consider ways to add more football to enjoy.

Mercer would draw more attention than Murray State

I can see why alot of teams' fans want it.

But UGA plays GT every year, plus P5 home/aways. And we have a neutral site with UF every year. Making SEC 9 games fricks UGA out of a home game every year.

Unless we drop JAX, or GT, or the other P5 home/aways we schedule.

I'm just thinkng about it logistically.

An additional bonus to having a couple nooner snoozers is it's good to take little kids to. This is very important, and often overlooked on forums like this.

If we go to 13 game regular season, then yes, absolutely 9 game conference schedule.

ETA- another benefit which is absolutely in the spirit of college football is to be able to get 3rd string guys, walkons, guys who bust their asses every day but never get to play, they actually get to play between the hedges, their families get to have that moment, and who knows, one day their number actually gets called and they've got more reps under their belt.

And the shite schools get to run athletic programs they wouldn't normally afford to, those are real dollars on real scholarships for real kids that wouldn't otherwise exist.

Jefferson is right, these first three are agonizing. Watched Vandy bc it was conference and east division, Saturday spent 6 hours in the dove field and listened to a little on my phone. Upcoming Saturday against Arkansas state... were going to be walking around downtown Blueridge with all the tourists eating taffy and window shopping.

Do you really believe a 9th SEC game would keep you out of the dove field, or keep the Blue Ridge taffy out of your mouth?

The way I see it, having a couple of shite games during the season allows us to enjoy a few Fall saturdays doing fun things like that, without missing out on good games.

Think about it.

You have a point. But we also get two bye weeks this year right? Hell I might even skip the tennesee game if they’re still as bad as advertised.

I wouldn't miss that shitstomping for any reason but death. I want to watch as they are mashed into pig shite and kicked to death and pissed on.

You don't seem to appreciate the definition of cupcake.
Tennessee is a cupcake
Vandy is a cupcake.
Arkansas is a cupcake.

Half of the conference is below average. There are not "levels" to an easy win. Beating cupcakes are all of equal importance whether they are in the P5, G5, or FCS.

The 9th conference game literally means that you are scheduling more of the same.

This year we get Notre Dame at home. Strip one of our scheduling dates away and you are most likely kissing that game goodbye (you also seem to forget that we do not control our conference schedule. A 9th conference game is taking away local control and handing it over with no benefit or return)

If you like recruiting then you should like these first 3 games.

If you hate recruiting (I dont know why you would be a college football fan), then I can understand being frustrated seeing the future and lifeblood of your program playing in front of 93000 people.

These freshmen and redshirt freshmen are fired up to be out there for the first time. It fires me up as a fan. There was a roar in our household when pwo Sevaughn Clark got carries. He was one of the Friday night heroes last season. If you can't get excited about these kids, I dont know what you are looking for from the sport.

Horse shite.

The stadium started emptying out before end of second quarter and was a ghost town by end of third. Those kids played in front of the vendors and clean up staff.
