It would have to be a pretty bad injury to not play in a game like today.

We’re supposed to play the young guys that we hope will be great. Not the guys that are winning their jobs by working hard.

Nothing some Copenhagen couldn't fix.

He said something like, "I knew I was starting since Monday, JT had something going on"

Are you saying we had good QB situations before Kirby came? You have to go all the way back to David Greene/DJ Shockley to find a decent 1-2 QB tandem here.

The whole “practice harder than games” deal concerns me. I get the idea but seems to lead to lots of injuries, especially early in the season.

I honestly don't know...but how many occurred in practice? Blaylock was in a game. Jackson in a game.

I suspect one reason Daniels came out of the game so early last week was because he got injured. (I don't know, but he came out awfully early, even with a big lead)

Maybe Washington in practice?
I have never played a year of football in which players did not get injured in practice. I think we have probably had some in games and some in practice. maybe we shouldn't play so hard in games?

Stet should be allowed to dip in the game. It’s his magic juice.

This whole thread needs to be pinned for stupidity. We threw for a whopping 72 yards today and won in a shut out. Clearly the plan was to physically dominate and run all over them. The game plan required someone to manage the plan and not win with big throws.

Smart also talked about Daniels until he got annoyed. Basically said that Daniels has a grade 1 lat strain, similar but hopefully less serious than what Dak Prescott dealt with for months. It's apparently an injury that can keep you out for awhile if it's bad. So absolutely no reason to play Daniels in a game like today when you've got 4 weeks until Florida...and even Auburn next week...and might need Daniels.

The general comments about injuries could also be asked about the numerous receivers...why is Ladd McKonkey the name we're hearing so much of when we cam into the season stacked at WR? I get Pickens isn't even possible until the Florida game (and it's a maybe), but what about Blaylock, Rosemy, Jackson, and Burton? Even the ones who have been back playing lately are not yet what they were last year...one nagging injury after another. Fortunately, it hasn't mattered yet.

So if we got behind, would have JT come in?

Tennessee has a ton of fans with your football knowledge, but I'm sure they could stand one more.

Plenty of other QBs in this conference over the last idk 34 years who can make it through a full season without an ouchie.

I don’t understand why he needs to play with a strained lat? He’s not mobile he relies on a quick snap throw. If he’s not getting that without pain then something is wrong. We won handily, and fortunate enough to let him rest. We’re going to need him against Florida and maybe auburn too.

As a fan, yes I want him to get an injection, come in and zip the ball around and play through it, but as a coach, player, parent etc, he needs to heal as much as possible before we get really tested

Washington
Pickens
T smith

All practice injuries. It’s not only this year. Seems to happen every year.

This a dumb thread and nobody knows how bad his injury is. I will say I’d rather him not dress out in pads as if he is going to play though. If he’s hurt. Put on sweats and cheer on teammates

Some of y’all act like I said he isnt good at football which I didn’t but the truth is he has sat out more games than he has played since he’s been at Georgia. Very injury prone and doesn’t seem to recover well.

I get what you are saying and to a certain degree agree with you. But there is another reason we might be hearing about players we did not expect to hear about. Maybe they worked hard and pulled ahead of the other guys?

Maybe they (players we are not hearing about)have shown a lackadaisical attitude and Smart is trying to light a fire under them?

Could be a lot of reasons. Could be nagging injuries just like you said.
