Doubt it.

There's no way that Manziel is as dumb as AJ Green....and actually deposited any payments received into his checking account. Much less dumb enough to hand over his banking records to them like AJ stupidly did.

frick the NCAA.

As a current NCAA athlete, Manziel is required to cooperate with investigators or risk forfeiting his eligibility (see: Maurice Clarett and Dez Bryant). That includes supplying bank records if asked. If there’s a mysterious deposit somewhere, he’ll have to explain it.

FWIW...I don't think anything will happen, with all the stuff that went down with Albetar & Tuscaloosa Menswear (signing photos, autographs, dinners, suits, cash etc.) and the NCAA did nothing, I see this as a non-issue…

But in fairness, they did put the screws to tOSU on Tatoogate, and it was more tenuous than this appears to be at first blush.

Would love to see UGA/Murray beat A&M/Manziel in the SECCG. I know it's unlikely but it would be sweet.

I imagine us playing them. If JF's head isn't in the game, he's going to get it taken off by Bama. Provided he's eligible, of course. Were I the NCAA, I'd take my time and ensure that the case is watertight as can be, since we know the pain firsthand (AJ) how how that screws with your roster when it's left in the air.

Playing them. Bama will be better on both sides of the ball this season and should beat A&M during the regular season. Our defense is a big question mark but I think there's a better chance of Georgia facing Bama again in the SECCG.

What a fricking joke.

My prediction is this:

Yes. Johnny Football is a gigantic douche. But!.....

....The over the top hatred of him by many....coupled with the absurdity and hypocrisy of the NCAA and their latest witch hunt......is going to backfire.

If JFF gets through all this and plays like he did last uear, he'll become the permanent poster-child of the victimized college athlete in a sports-crazed nutjob society.....and he'll end up being put on an even higher pedestal....to continue being a douche on.
