Rumor on Dawg Vent is Chaney is maybe gone!

Rusty @ 247 tweets about how great Co-OC Coley is after Stevenson's commit. That may not be a random thing. Makes me wonder if there's not something to this. Letting Chaney go and promoting Coley would be a big mistake for Kirby, IMO.

You wouldn't be wrong for thinking that after the way their season went. I suspect his health is one reason they didn't let him go.

Wouldn't Dell McGee be a better promotion there? Dude was a head coach, albeit briefly.

Coley was TERRIBLE as an OC/play caller at his last stop.

IF, and it’s a big if (pun intended), Chaney isn’t retained, Kirby needs to go out and get an explosive, dynamic OC, and let that person run the offense 100%

That's because Coley is the S. Florida whisperer. We all want Smart to give total control of offense to the OC, but he's probably too much of a control freak.

Dell and Pittman and the two we have to keep. I hate to lose Chaney because that will cause a disruption...but thus is life.

There's also a rumor on DN that Saban is trying to hire Pittman. Not worried about that happening. UGA is paying Pittman well and from what I've heard, Pittman hates Saban.

Aren’t Pittman and Enos pretty tight? That could be part of that Bama rumor, and seems like a legit worry if Chaney is out, but who knows.

Muschamp meddled with the offense at Florida and ruined the program and got fired. He's doing the same at SC and look at how bad they are. Forget the Clemson stats and check the Virginia stats and the rest of their year.

Isn’t Enos as Bama OC pretty much a done deal?

Yes, but he had a clause in his contract that kept him from leaving Arky for a lateral move.
