Realistically who is out there to replace him and be the new up and coming college OC?

Until we adapt some killer instinct on O, we will struggle in big moments regardless of who calls plays.

Agree. We should be playing every play to score, even when we are putting in the subs in the 4th quarter. Coasting through the 2nd half of games disrupts the continuity and the psyche of the players.
When I was playing baseball our goal was to never let an opponent score in the last inning even if we were up 10. And we always wanted to score one more run.

We must keep Pittman at all costs.

Maybe we take McClendon back from USC?

I don’t think it’s worth making a change unless Kirby is willing to actually allow a new hire to formulate our offensive philosophy, not just decide between “grunt and punt right” or “grunt and punt left”.

IF we were to make a change under those circumstances, I think you’ve got to go for someone more dynamic than McClendon, who is still VERY raw as an OC.

The last time I was cussing at Chaney was in Jacksonville in the 2nd quarter. Then the 2nd half happened. I fine with Chaney now. Switching coaches could really backfire.

1 game as our interim HC for Taxslayer bowl, and we won.

Then 1 year as co-OC at USC.

Then last year is the head OC at USC.

He has always been a great recruiter.

Any better ideas?

I haven’t put together a list, but a couple of names that come to mind are:

Mike Sanford
Larry Fedora

Not saying McClendon is a bad coach by any means, just that A. I don’t think we make a change, and B. if we did I would want someone with a lot of play calling experience and for Kirby to leave him alone.

If Chaney leaves James Coley will become the full time OC and we will run basically the same offense so y'all can quit guessing.

Kirby would bring in a younger version of Shane Beamer, TE coach, recruiting stat, maybe some special teams experience to help Coach Fountain.

If Cheney’s game plan gets off kilter just the slightest he goes straight to shite. I’d be fine with Coley and Cheney getting his walking papers.

Kendal Briles (Houston)?

Any fans of bringing Bobo home? Seems like he's a better OC than head coach.

Replacing both the oc and the dc in the same season would make it very hard to win a Natty next year as we lose a lot of the 3xeriencecthatvwas built up playing in those systems, I’d keep Chaney given the choice

Alabama is going to make it very hard to win a national title next season.

I’m for whatever makes our team most competitive in the long run, which many feel is a change of O philosophy.

I give Chaney a B, certainly no higher. I can take him or leave him.

Is this a joke?

RUMOR on "internet discussion board" is that he is MAY be gone?

Like-

"It's official. Chaney is officially not officially possibly gone, but might not be gone."

So who knows what will happen, but for what he's been able to do recruiting could we make Pittman our co-OC to try to keep him and snag someone else?
