This season is truly going to come down to who is heathy at the end. With the 2-3 extra games on the calendar. Huge difference last night getting D starters back and Mykel healthier.
One interesting thing is we end with two non conference opponents.
With the current tie breaker rules, we don’t actually control our own SEC destiny even if we win out.
A&M and LSU play so one will have a loss.
A&M toughest game after is Texas.
LSU toughest game after is Bama.
Who goes to ATL could come down to the 4th level tie breakers. Winning % of conference opponents.

That’s where depth comes into play. We should have depth. Do we? Doesn’t sound like our coaches think we do since we go super conservative with backups.

Conference champ is now just an exhibition game that can knock you out of the playoffs. frick the SEC CG. I hope we miss it in some odd tie breaker and get a bye week going into playoffs.

Florida and the bye week before the Florida game is typically the game what we use as the target to get many of our players back from injury. It's an old Georgia tradition.

I was thinking the same thing about the SECCG this morning. Hopefully, we have turned the corner, and can win out in the regular season.

fricked up and best scenario:
UGA wins out, A&M bests LSU and wins out. LSU then wins out (beats Bama) (wins UGA tie breaker and goes to SECCG).
Would then come down to 4th tie breaker between A&M and UGA -Cumulative Conference winning percentage of all Conference opponents among the tied teams (UGA and A&M)
Texas, AU, Miss St, Florida in common so they wash.
Then it would come down to conf winning % of:
A&M-Missouri, Ark, LSU, USC currently 8-6
Vs
UGa-Ole Miss, Bama, KY, TN currently 7-9
So we need to pull for ARK, USC and Mizz lol.
How fricked up wouldn’t that be!
We could be the highest ranked SEC team and third in conference.
We get a home playoff game in Athens and skip SECCG!!!
*I think that’s how tie breakers would apply.

What I don’t want to happen is that somehow the stars align and we have to play TX in the SECCG and then again in the playoffs.
Would that be possible if both teams win out?

My scenario was wrong. LSU and A&M would play again though.
UGA gets home game vs 11th or 12th seed.

Playoff destiny is so much more important. Getting to the playoff at 11-1 and not even having to play the SECCG would be the dream scenario. An 11-1 Georgia team is a lock for the playoff, no matter what else happens in the conference.
Winning the SEC is almost meaningless in the playoff era. Think there were a lot of LSU fans wearing 2011 SEC Champions gear? How about Alabama fans with 2021 SEC Championship gear?

Winning the SECCG is meaningful. Bye, two weeks off.
Losing it is double punishment.

All this talk of playoffs is probably meaningless if Beck continues to play like arse.

My God man, we just beat the #1 team in the country in THEIR stadium. Not to mention he had half a dozen drops by his receivers.
How can a true UGA fan make a comment like this on day like this?

We have to win out to make the SECCG. If aTm beats LSU they will still have Florida and Alabama. A loss to either will knock them out of contention. aTm has USCe and Texas. So aTm or Texas will likely be in the SECCG. We can't lose again and still make it.
