I'm assuming with Evans probably on board that Swift is 100% gone. Anybody hear anything?

How did Kirby pull this Evans situation off? If it happens. That’s wild

Swift is gone. And honestly, it may be for the best. If we do make some coaching change(s) offensively, perhaps now is the time to say adios to Swift AND Fromm and let’s get started on a better iteration of this offense on day one.

We got lucky with the offensive skill guys in 2017 working out as they did, but it was earlier than we expected and before Kirby had fully stocked both lines of scrimmage. Now, the lines are solid, the D is clicking and this is a chance for all these new guys to come in and have three good years to get it done.........and based on talent alone, it shouldn’t take that long.

What? We weren't "lucky" at all at the RB posistion and I expected us to be loaded. We also had a lot of retuning talent at WR/slot with Godwin,Ridley and Hardman returning Wims was a bit of a surprise.

Perhaps not "stacked" but talent was there
but perhaps not much depth. I FULLY expected to have the year we had.

Chemistry and Sr leadership helps as well and that team had it.

No,it's never good to lose either and it's flat out silly to even say that. Its CFB...you ALWAYS need healthy bodies especially at RB and QB.

Sorry, but this is where I'm gonna have to call you out on your entire statement. We were ABSOLUTELY lucky that two 5-star backs decided to forego their shot at the NFL to (BOTH) come back for their senior seasons, something that almost NEVER happens in college football today. Godwin and Hardman were also about the only guys we knew much about at WR and neither was a game-changer at WR like an AJ Green. Ridley had flashes, but had been inconsistent. Wims.......was a complete surprise becoming as dominant as he did in 2017. We never saw that same receiver prior to then. Add on to that that we entered the season with Eason as the seemingly entrenched starter at QB only to lose him in the first game and then all held our collective breaths while Fromm went on to make his first start on the road, AT NOTRE DAME, as a TRUE FRESHMAN......yeah, we were VERY frickin' lucky, dude. Anyone that says they expected the year we had is full of utter and complete BS.

Depth is exactly what I'm getting at. We weren't as stocked on the lines. Now we are. There is no disputing this. It's not an opinion. Chemistry, again, depended on at least three juniors (Chubb, Michel, Bellamy) making the uncommon decision to return for a senior season where almost no one ever does. We, as fans, got LUCKY.

I FULLY expected to have the year we had.

I pulled this statement out just to highlight the big, fat NO YOU frickING DIDN'T that it deserves. NO ONE predicted us to be a play away from a national title in 2017. Most folks had already decided that 2018 would be the year, figuring we would have a three-year starter at QB and new running backs in their second year in the system. Your statement is patently false.

It amazes me how short people's memories are.

I'm not going to disagree with you entirely on this, because I understand the sentiment. But Swift played much of the year below what we had seen from him in the previous two seasons, possibly due to injury. Herrien was surprisingly good as the other side of the tandem, but he's no Chubb or Michel. The two guys we have coming in now along with Zeus give us the distinct possibility to have a true, double-five-star RB tandem again in the backfield to help out our QB. And Fromm.......we all know he's regressed. We're gambling in hoping that he will somehow get it "figured out" next season, but if he does, it seems there's a chance he may have to do it while learning yet another (his third) offensive scheme. If that's the case, who's to say a guy like Beck may not come in and be better with that scheme than Fromm from the get-go? Fromm surprised us in 2017. Beck could absolutely do the same.

There's never a GREAT time to lose proven talent, but if we bring to the table next year exactly what we did this year, I'm not sure how anyone can honestly expect a different result.

I want to disagree with so many points but it's such a wall of text that it just isn't even worth it. It's like when one of your friends is just going off and you finally decide it's easier to nod and say "yea, you're right" and move along.

Just don't have the best feeling about Evans being a pita for the team.

Please, tell us all about your great prognostication of 2017. It shouldn’t be that difficult. I don’t feel like digging up all the “2018 will be out year” posts, but they’re all out there my friend.

RB's that produce like Swift for 3 years all leave. That's just the nature of the position.

Zeus will be in year 2 of essentially a 3 year rehab, and I expect a significant step forward. Acceleration and power always improve year 2, and lateral quickness comes back in year 3. Take a look at everyone who's had the same injuries. It's about the same arc.

Milton is going to contribute. UGA needs a big back with some vision. That need and his maturity make me believe he'll see the field early.

I have no idea what Evans is going to do (or if he's really coming). However, he's got the tools and there's definitely space and opportunity if he's ready to make the most of it.

UGA is going to lose 2 O-Linemen from one of the best units in the country and still come out the other end at least as experienced, and Matt Luke is a good O-Line coach. This unit could still be the best in the SEC.

Keep in mind the running game wasn't amazing by UGA standards. With a more effective passing attack, I expect an improvement on the ground next season.

Nah, I’ve been sitting around my house since last Thursday, post-tonsillectomy. The lack of daily discussion and not being able to eat real food despite the billion Popeye’s chicken sandwich commercials airing throughout daytime TV has me a little on edge, looking for a reason to talk.

It’s nothing personal, but RD’s assertion that he fully expected our 2017 season was low-hanging fruit.

Let me introduce you to an alternate phrase that is supremely more useful.

"You might be right..."

It implies nothing but generally gives the listener the same satisfaction of agreement. Particularly useful with women...

changed it.Dont GAS if you believe me or not

I also looked at your idiotic other post. There just so much bullshite and idiocy I'm not even gonna waste the time or energy.

Yep,Sony and Chubb staying was NOTHING but pure blind luck...just like getting our commitment from Evans...just picked our name outta a hat.Pure luck!
