McGarity was trending #2 this morning on Twitter, and not for any good reasons.

We'd have a better chance at retaining Pruitt if Morehead would sack up and kick McGarity to the curb.

Is it possible that Pruitt is a bit...overrated? He had a great one year at FSU with incredible talent to work with, and then he came here and did improve our defense considerably from Year 1 to Year 2...but it's not like we didn't have a boat load of young talent on the defensive side when he showed up at UGA. I think there's a contrast effect because those last years with Martinez and then Grantham were awful.

All things considered, the rumors from Tallahassee and the rumors from Athens make it seem like Pruitt might not be much of a team player. Kind of reminds me of Van Gorder with the willingness to hop every year or two...and the "my way or the highway" attitude.

Just sayin'....if Kirby Smart or anyone else comes in, and Pruitt leaves because he isn't "THE" guy, I'm pretty sure the new HC will get the right person for the DC job.

Our bigger question mark is who will be the OC...especially if it does turn out to be Smart at HC.

GOOD DAY, SIR.

but really, yeah at this point he probably is. He's still a damn good DC, but I think people are forgetting how several teams ran through our defense like a hot knife through butter this year.

On the other hand, he has exactly 3 years of experience as a DC, and he has shown the ability to adapt to his player's strengths over the course of the season. He might be overrated at this point in time, but he is still very, very good, and when combined with his recruiting abilities...I think he is far and away our best option at DC.

The other issue is that he may be a lunatic and can't control himself. I mean, if any of that shite was true about him going to Richts house and raising hell - this guy could have serious problems.

has any of that been confirmed? It seems like that would have called for instant termination, especially now that it's widely believed that ADGM isn't too fond of Pruitt.

I guess we will find out. If Smart gets our HC gig and Saban hires Pruitt as his DC, then I think it's safe to say that Saban doesn't think Pruitt is overrated.

Three consecutive DC jobs? That really would be like VanGorder. Seems like if Pruitt is that incredible, he ought to take one of the 20 head coaching vacancies...

Being a head coach is vastly different from being a coordinator.

I can't imagine Pruitt would be great in terms of the media responsibilities / public image aspect of the head coach position. Some people's personalities just fit the coordinator role better.
