It seemed he wasn't the same until late in the 4th when he snapped out of it.
I've heard nothing reported that would suggest it, but it was a question I was asking myself as the game progressed. Probably nothing, but was curious of others thoughts.

The late rush on for the field goal was seriously not Gunner. He was thinking punt. That's what's I thought was the most obvious tell.

I dont think he was concussed. But I was 30 miles away and watching on a 4 hour delay.

We have seen players get hit and their performance drops.

That's part of football. That is why we want to hit opposing QBs.

But we can all probably remember Fromm, Daniels, and Bennett take a shot and be less accurate afterward.
Even in our best years.

This is football.

I'm more concerned about the turnovers. That's not him. Those INTs were just bad.

"Clear as a bell, no issues"

We should probably shot running off tackle with Gunner on first play of the game and maybe save that when its a meaningful down in a meaningful game.

I dont know the right answer.

But devils advocate:
Maybe we wanted to establish Gunner early to make things easier on Nate in the box.

I am not knocking Gunner as a QB.
But the first time he was put into the SECCG against Texas, our run game exploded. Because of the threat of his legs. That alone adds a huge element to our offense and blocking success.

The Auburn linebackers played a great game. Maybe that early call was an attempt to slow them down a little.

What if the first play was a read option type play and Gunner held it?

Isn't really the same thing.... Have a play that's 50/50 that runs your QB off tackle....

Well, that time it was 100/0 on the first play.

Are you trying to say we shouldn't run read option because the quarterback might get hurt if he keeps it?

I would say no not even close.

95/5 all time

Maybe 85/15 with Gunner and Stetson

But I agree Gunner would have the autonomy to pull it if his read told him too.
