Georgia refuses to consider doing what other P5 teams have done and drop that non-conf game when it becomes counterproductive to their own interests. There are many reasons for that decision, but logic isn't one of them.
I agree & think this is one place logic should go out the window.
If skipping one of our oldest, most storied rivalries AKA selling your soul is the way to win the new CFB game, then it's not worth winning

this young generation is wired different. At the tailgate on Saturday we had the bama and tech games on split screen. There were a couple younger college-aged kids watching with us, they were UGA fans with georgia hats, shirts, etc. I assume they go to UGA but idk. They were actively cheering for tech. Someone asked them wtf they're doing and they said some BS about wanting the rep the state of GA.
And to make matters worse, they were openly pulling for Ryan Williams on the other screen! I think he said that was for some fantasy bullshite. Just blows me away. I remember in 2006 in the student section for the tech game there was a guy behind me who said "I'm just here to see Calvin Johnson in person!" Ryan Williams is good, I get it. But you can acknowledge and respect an opponent's abilities without actively cheering them on.

Only if King makes it through this season alive.
He gets injured every game and has limped in all of them this year.
Likely scenario is he is so banged up by the end of the year, you see Philo

It's never too early to hate tech, hate them early, hate them often.

Key ain’t going anywhere.
Hoping they rest King any opportunity they get. Kid’s a warrior, but he’s taking hits like Nesbit used to, but he’s about 30 lbs lighter.
Schedule is favorable for 10-0, for sure. Makes me even more pissed J. Batt made those ridiculous MBS deals.

Such as?
Most play their rivals rather than drop them.
There have been a lot of big rivalry games that halted annual meetings due to conference realignment or longer conference schedules. Some of them are still played sporadically or resumed when the teams became conference mates again. New rivalries form, most fans get over it.
Penn State/Pittsburgh, Oklahoma/OSU, Oklahoma/Nebraska, Texas/TAMU, Kansas/Missouri, Utah/BYU, Oregon/Oregon St. (pause or end after 2025), Pittsburgh/WVU (sporadic), UCLA/Cal, Florida/Miami. Washington/WSU looks like it will continue for now but probably move to the start of the season instead of the end. More rivalries will end over the next few years due to scheduling and finances.

It takes a heart wrenching loss to truly hate a team. I can almost go down the list and tell you which games or series of games that made me a hater.
Give it time….they’ve had it too good.

Prefer him to go to Clemson so we don’t have to see him every year.

The backup is good enough that most games they should be able to rest King a lot.

I don't agree (about dropping GT equals selling our soul) but I can respect that level of dedication to that particular contest. What I don't respect is people complaining about not winning championships if that's not their primary goal for Georgia football.

Tech would have a much bigger problem if Faulkner left than Key.

I don't see him leaving any time soon. I think he may after a few years. I think he wants to build a legacy at Tech and if he leaves have some continuity or have Tech in a place they are attractive. If he keeps doing well he could get an offer from somewhere like ND or a high profile SEC job. I don't think he would be considered for Florida which is likely open next year.

It’s possible that GT becomes an SEC job.

Don't see it, be great for us but you guys pissed off the Mississippi schools and LSU back in the day

I saw a lot of his high school games. As he gains experience, GT will be just fine with him.

The Big 10 is more likely than SEC.

Faulkner has done a fantastic job, but idk if I'm ready to crown him in the way most others already have. The biggest variable to me is that he has only had 1 QB thus far in his tenure, and that QB is perfect for what he's calling. they do that QB run play with a lead blocker a hundred times a game but hey, it works for them. I don't think I'll have a solid opinion on faulkner until I see what he does with his second QB.
Take paul johnson at tech as another prime example. Early on in his tenure he had the absolute perfectly marriage of 1) a new scheme 2) elite players that ran the scheme to perfection. He inherited jonathan dwyer, nesbitt, roddy jones, and demaryius thomas and took the world by storm. Once those guys left...a bit downhll after that.

Everything's relative. Tech's two consecutive 7-6 seasons look fantastic compared to what they did under the other guy (forget his name). So of course everyone wants to jump in and be the first to declare them the next big thing. Time will tell but, like you say, the crowns are being handed out mighty early.
One of our new Georgia Sports Board posters was on the rant the other day sounding like a Tech fan. Brent Key would be the 2nd best coach in the SEC right now and he wouldn't leave even if Florida or Alabama opened up the vault to Fort Knox. And tech's backup QB is better than the starter (aka, the future's so bright, I gotta wear shades). That's a lot of StingTalk brand of hype for a team that's gone 1-7 vs ranked teams in Key's first 2 seasons. And the ranked opponent they beat was a #18 Miami team that lost to the only two ranked teams they played all year, #20 Syracuse and #15 Iowa State. I guess a close loss to Georgia counts as a humongous moral victory (see Tennessee media this week).

I saw the remark on Techs back up QB being better than Stockton. I considered it the most moronic thing about football I have ever heard and the person who said it a dimwitted knuckle dragging homer.
