Just getting this kicked off now so JD can put it on his radar.

This is what is in progress now. Intended to do it last Summer but it was delayed.

New supports, railing, adding a staircase, and an underneath deck at one of the basement doors. Also new paint job. The pergola is just one of the Lowes ones that I put together with a few mystery pieces leftover.

The before and after pics will be dramatic.

Then getting grass to grow back there and taking down some more privet and other little shite trees.

Edit to add more pics

Did most of the lawn upgrades last year. I’m painting shutters and pressure washing this weekend. Long term got a drainage issue on the lower part of my 3 acres to work on.

I’m out this year. Kids playing football completely trounced my centipede in half of my front yard. Also erosion is taking its toll and I’m probably going to drop a couple of grand on fill and sod to control drainage.

Steeply sloping yards are a pain in the arse....look for flat lots. Learn from my error.

Making grass grow on this northern exposure will be difficult.

It's easier to defend the high ground though.

When the shite hits the fan, the flat lotters will be the first to be looted and raped. They're basically sitting ducks.

Well..I also didn’t mention that due to sloping lot I also have a huge basement. And not one of those dank, 8ft ceiling, hit your head on the light basements either. I’ve got 9 and 10 foot ceilings down there.

The entire front half is basically underground too. Tornados or nuclear fallout? I’m good.

Drainage is still a pain in the arse though.

30-second LawnOff hype vid script

Just a black screen to start

then
-sound of sprinklers cutting on chit, chit, chit, wakawakawaka, chit, chit chit....

then
-sound of manual hedge clippers going chop, chop, chop
-in the distance a dog barks a few times
-birds are chirping

then
-sound of starter rope being pulled on a lawnmower (but it doesn't start)
-sound of it being pulled again (still no start)
-sound of a man muttering and cussing under his breath
-with sound of a boot kicking a lawnmower

then!!
-sound of rope pulled again but this time it fires up!
-mower engine revs up big time and the sound fades into the death metal guitar power-chords of the Lawn Off theme song

as
-the LawnOff graphic appears on the black screen.

I didn’t, instead i’m just spraying 2,4d qunilorac ( bayer for lawns) on the weeds as they pop up. I should have done preemergent. Neighors are letting me know! Now I know what to do next year.

I’m a former golf course superintendent. My yard has always looked mediocre and sometimes total shite. Even when I had the course looking ridiculous. After so long doing that I frickin hate grass and I go out and scalp the shite out of the yard every other week. And have never pre emerged. Even when I had free access to the good controlled stuff.

Prob too late this year if you haven’t done it yet. It got warm for those 2 weeks and weeds started popping up when ground temps warmed up. But I did hit the yard with Image last weekend to kill my Poa Annua. It’s a losing battle with the shape my neighbors yards are in. I usually spray their side yard too just to limit what creeps into my lawn

Deeprig, what's the plan for the lower deck?

Also, do you still have the lowes receipt for the pergola thing? because that's going back.

I’d also be frustrated if Alabama’s quarterback was creeping into my lawn.

Nah...Too late to control the last of the winter annuals, but you still have time to stop the summer, imo.

Poa is a bitch and I hate it. Usually spray that shite with round-up this time of year.
