Would like that.

Other guys I think we should look at:

Kirby Smart Alabama DC
Bud Foster VT DC
Dave Aranda Wisconsin DC
Geoff Collins Miss St DC

Does Orgeron to AL help us at all with Kirby?

The more big personalities they get the worse it will be. Orgeron, Kiffin and Smart would all be vying for the #2 position. Shite-show in waiting.

Bedford would have been the best hire, but he took the DC job at Texas with Strong today!

Yeah.

His rankings.

USC 2013:

14th rushing D
53rd passing D
40th scoring D
23rd in ints
54th total D

Not great. He had bad D at Cal as well. Think I might have changed my mind on him being a good candidate.

anyone know any position coaches that might be great choices?

Would we want a position coach?

Nah. At this point, we need someone who has run a successful 3-4. No scheme changes this time around.

If we hire a position coach, it's an underwhelming hire and we have a right to be pissed. Unless there is something we all just do not know, offering Kirby a buttload of cash + HCIW is the best move we can make. Would change the program.

Quality? Nah, I think that's the list. Options, though, would also be promoting Wilson or getting Manny Diaz or Kevin Steele. All three would be subpar moves, IMO.

Don't like it. I think that actually causes more problems than it solves.

Agreed. After watching Manny Diaz D at Texas I'm not even sure we should want him as a position coach.

We can expect to lose Bobo, that's for sure. But thinking longterm, is it worth it? I think so. Unless of course someone can produce a better 3-4 DC that we're just not thinking about

Pendergast was a final candidate for the Oregon DC position, so it's not that far fetched. For the record, I am not promoting this idea.
