Yeah, if that's an automatic first down, declining the penalty is indefensible.
Still not sure if the GPB announcers are right. I'm almost 100% sure that some personal fouls at the high school level are not automatic first downs.

Idk, but I've never heard of a PF not being an automatic first down.
