He played poorly, no doubt.

Can you at least agree there is a difference between pointing out a player isn't playing well and flat out giving up on a team that is down 6 points?

Idgaf if ppl want to bash players. It's the sky is falling "We are blowing it" posters while the game is clearly still winnable.

he was obviously very nervy at the start of the game. but the offensive struggles early were a complete team effort. bad penalties, odd play calls, and o-line that was getting beat very easily.

stet obviously not the type to be able to win the game by himself. once we settled down on the line and our playmakers made plays Stet did what was needed to lead us to the promise land.

Ok. I’ll drive that Prius, and you will still be a jackass.

You know that douchebag at the party that nobody likes and people are basically talking shite about all night but he’s too obtuse and arrogant to understand that he’s the problem? Yeah that’s you.

17/26, 224 yds, 2tds, 0 INTs in a national championship is not the bad game you are acting like it is.

After the turnover, 4/4, 83 yds, 2tds.

Stepped up HUGE when it mattered. It’s just crazy how out of our way we go to bash this kid who just won a national championship. Absolutely crazy.

I don't think anyone bashing stet in the game thread was unjustified.

And hence the problem. Since when is it OK to bash players doing their best, or anyone for that matter? The mentality of this culture is beyond deprived and devoid of integrity.

I've been critical of Stet when he's made mistakes against Bama. I've never shied away from it, but I also acknowledge that Kirby and his staff makes infinitely more $$$ than I do, and specifically to evaluate talent and know what's best for the team.

Kid made some boneheaded decisions last night, but the way he shook it off and kept his head down, getting back to work in the 4Q is the stuff of legend.

If he didn't put that offense on his back in the 4th quarter last, then no one ever has. He even said as much in the post game interview. Something along the lines of "I wasn't gonna allow the turnover to lose this game for us." That wasn't beating his chest. He willed that from from his heart. And, and yet, his own fans continue to doubt after a National Title.

I know. I can't fathom it....the reasoning, the hubris, behind it.

No doubt he did. My point was he needs the other guys to do their job too. The o line blocked better, WR made plays, and we quit shooting ourselves in the foot. All that plus Stetson being Stetson turned into a magical moment.

Yet many project that his success in the 4th never happened.
Only the bad. Only the bad. That's denial of reality over one's own pride.

You mean the guy watching the game at the party that starts yelling about how much the coaches and players suck when the team struggles in the first quarter and how you don’t have a chance.

You mean that guy?

And in all fairness, he had a lot of help in that first half starting behind the chains. I'm pressed to think of another QB that could have done any better in that situation, against Bama's D. He didn't respond well to those situations. I'll be the first to admit it. Just frustrated , not with you personally, but with people highlighting the bad and ignoring the context, the good, and the final outcome just for the sake of their pride. stepping down from the soapbox.
