It’s as if you assume the modern traditional college student at a school like UGA all have to work 1 or 2 jobs to survive a 4 year degree pursuance when the vast majority have their living expenses subsidized by their parents,
Well... having a parent pay for school is like winning the lottery (it virtually has nothing to do with the student's choices and everything to do with the parent's choices. A lot like the coaching staff that issues the scholarship offers. I see parallels.

loans, or need-based scholarships.
Ive seen the cars that kids drive. I know where the loans, pell grant, need based scholarship, and cost of attendance stipends go. For a student paying his way... it pays the way. For a student with no housing, food, tuition bills? They go to cars, toys, and girlfriends. Im not saying that it isnt earned (<1% of all students are on athletic scholarship). But i am saying that it is an enormous advantage to get through college.

For athletes, those living expenses are subsidized in full during their first year living on campus via an athletic scholarship (assuming they have one) but turn into housing stipends that may only cover partial rent depending on if/where they live off campus.
You do know that players profit in their off-campus housing checks. Right? Roommates offset the full cost. Each roommate can be ~$500 in a player's pocket per month.
quote:actually, it is covered as part of the cost of attendance stipend. That is a part of the cost of attendance. $500 cash from an offcampus roommate goes a long way as well.
There is no transportation coverage so car and gas is their own to deal with.

Which can be true in certain circumstances. But in general, classes at State are considered to be far and away easier than at UGA and not just based on anecdotal evidence
Where is your evidence? I attended both. A student gets out of the education what he/she puts into it. The curriculum is the same. Quality of instructors are the same. Campus and quality of the administration are 100 times better at UGA. It is lazy to think that the education at UGA is superior to Ga State. Georgia State is the harvard of the south if you didnt know.

If football is the best way to pay for college, why doesn’t everyone do it?
