If UGA beats LSU is SEC title game.
Two sec teams will play in the CFP
They won’t put Bama ahead of LSU

With Bama's only quality opponent resulting in a loss, it was fairly easy to see they were going to drop below UGA.
Oregon and Utah don't have any real quality wins but their record justifies their positions and I believe is the committee setting the PAC12 winner to enter the playoff over Bama when one of UGA/LSU loses when they meet head to head (assuming they do with current loss counts).
If I'm an Oklahoma, Baylor, or Bama fan, this poll is very deflating...it's fairly clear the Big12 won't get a playoff spot this season unless some craziness happens with tOSU or Clemson....they could sneak in if UGA takes another loss before the SECCG and then loses to LSU. I think in that case, Oklahoma would be picked over Bama.
Bama is pretty much out with their only opportunity for a quality win the rest of the way being Auburn. Even if they beat Auburn, they won't have a shot at a conference championship. That #5 slot, based on the teams just below them and their remaining schedules, is telegraphing to us that Bama is out. ]
It's nice to see UGA at 4 as reassurance that the SC loss wasn't a poison pill, but it really doesn't change anything. We've known since that day that we'd have to win out to make the CFP.

Yep. If we win out there is no question we deserve to be in it. We lose even once there is no question we will not be in it.
Seems pretty basic, and pretty fair, to me.

The only way this makes sense is that the committee factored in our SoS heavily because our single loss to SC is a much worse loss than Bama's loss to #1 LSU.
One other factor might be their view of Tua and his injury. Some may feel that he will not be fully recovered to be able to play effectively in playoff games. He was definitely playing injured in the LSU game.

Wins mean more than losses.

LSU and Georgia are the only teams in the country with 2 Top Ten wins.
Georgia has the statistically 2nd best defense in the country.
After UGA's loss to SC, UGA responded with a Kentucky shutout, a Florida raping, and a Mizzou beatdown.
So even with "iffy" offense, the resume` still puts us in the top 4.
Does Alabama have a single win over any team in the top 25 right now?

Only if UGA doesn't drop another game prior to then.
Only if Oregon or Utah don't win out. They will be hard pressed to put a team that just lost conference championship over a team that just beat a highly ranked team in their conference championship.

That's only slightly more optimistic than me, with a raging hard-on, floating down a river on my back yelling "Open the draw bridge, I'm coming through"
