Does this make you feel better or worse considering no remaining team on our schedule has a Defense in the top 16 nor top 26 in Offense?

The thing that makes me feel better is knowing that the one time our players entered a Monday game week and throught there was a legitimate chance that they could lose on Saturday is the one game where they mashed the gas and went full Georgia on the other team.

That’s a byproduct of having a defense as good as what we’ve had for most of the last 7 years.

Everything feels ok as long as we’re not giving up TD drives. Places like USC and Ohio State feel the same panic when they have to punt.

I will feel better when I know Bowers is full go. We have to have him, Beck, Starks and DE healthy

We haven’t played anyone with a pulse yet this season. That stat is garbage.
I still feel like we could compete for the title, but that will take better coaching on both sides of the ball, less injuries and some players need to step up and be true leaders.

Otherwise, there are 10-12 teams that could beat us, including 2 teams we play

FSUs only ranked win is LSU
Michigan hasn’t played a ranked team.
Ohio State’s only ranked win was ND who also lost to Louisville who lost to Pitt
Penn State hasn’t played a ranked team
Oklahoma played and beat the only ranked team they will play this season

These stats certainly mean something.

What does any of this have to do with UGA needing to run up the yardage against really shitty opponents thus far??
All I see here, is that other teams have actually played ranked teams and we have not yet. The only team you listed who hasn’t played a ranked team, is beating their opponents blocks off and hasn’t let up more than 10 points all season

Anyhow, like I said, this stat is garbage. It’s actually sad we have needed to gain this much yardage to beat the teams we have. It’s also sad how many points we have given up with such few yards. Basically, we turn the ball over too much and are forced to keep rolling up the offense to put these games away.

Like I said, we could win it all again if a few things come together, but how we’ve played, could lose to 10-12 teams.

Guess you’re right, these stats are telling of our season thus far

All your points are the same for all the other top 5 ranked teams

Well, we have played a rank team, UK.

And if we use your logic. Michigan hasn’t played a rank team, OSU has played 1, FSU has played Duke and LSU and Washington had played 1

So, again the top 5 teams have played similar completion yet no one is even close to have both top 10 offense and defensive rankings, except GA

My logic? The other poster lied about Penn State for some reason, so I wasn’t sure what “logic” we were using. Penn State has played a ranked team both at the time and now…and the only other top 5 team not to play anyone currently ranked, has knocked the crap out of their opponents and not let up more than 10 points all season

Also, again, what the hell do these other teams have to do with UGA needing to run up the yardage to beat our shitty opponents thus far? Why is UGA 12th in the country in pass attempts with the teams we’ve had to play?

Not sure what you and the other poster are trying to say with all this other top 5 team stuff. That’s not what the OP asked and nothing in my first post has to do with them.

For the third time in this thread, I say, UGA could win it all if certain things change and we get some players to step up and be leaders. If they continue to play the way they have, I think there are 10-12 teams that could beat us, including 2 left on our schedule.

You ask this, knowing full well about the injuries in the RB room?

“Lied”? Iowa apparently came back into the top 25 yesterday at 24. That’s Penn State’s ranked win. That’s your big get that blows this whole thing open for you.

Because this thread is discussing that UGA is #5 in total offense and #6 in total defense nationally and the schedule of the other top 5 schools were offered for context.

Nothing to blow open. For some reason, you brought up the other top 6 teams and who they have played and lied about one of them, when my response to the OP had nothing to do with them. My point this whole time has been, the reason we are ranked so high in yardage, is because we've had to keep throwing the ball and leaving starters in longer because we haven't done a great job of taking care of business this season.

The thread was discussing how others felt about the rankings, despite who we have played and who we have left on the schedule. You are the one that brought up other top 5 teams, all of which who have beaten top 25 teams except Michigan who has smoked everyone on their schedule and hasn't let up more than 10 points in any game.

Anyway, once again....yes, OP, it is concerning that we are needing to throw so much and run up the yardage against the schedule we have played. There are 2 teams that could beat us IF we play they way we have so far this season. Also, looks like Bowers will be out for some time and we needed a monster game from him to come back and beat a horrible Auburn team that will be competing for last in the SECW.
I hope some players step up here in the bye week and against Florida and change the tune of this team. Just feels like they are not playing with the camaraderie and passion of the last 2 teams.

I really believe you think you understand and yet everyone else sees the point you are missing when it comes to statistics and comparing to ones peers.
