If pugs stays he will start and millender and monty both probably transfer.
Don't see Kirby not rewarding pugs for staying but could be wrong and hope he does open it up next year to a real competition

Why would you think that CKS wouldn’t have a “real” competition at QB?
After 2021 it seems pretty obvious CKS is going to play whoever he thinks will give us the best chance of winning despite who the fans might want to see.

I think Kirby values loyalty and pugs has been very loyal to the program. If Bobo is still OC Pugs will be the QB imo.
Also put me on record din predicting that gunner gets hurt this year and pugs comes in for a spell or even to start a game. He may say it's a competition but I think Montgomery or millender would have to completely blow pugs out of the water to win it. Again JMO

I think we blur “loyalty” with years in the system and understanding the playbook, defenses, etc. Pugs has years of development under his belt and unless he fails to take advantage of it (like Beck did when JT was injured) he will give us the best chance to win unless one of the other guys turns into a phenom.
Between Millender, Montgomery and Beaver we have some great young talent. I know it’s spring but I honestly thought Beaver looked the best. He went through his progressions and made quick decisions of where he was going with the ball. Also he didn’t seem scared to throw it up there for his receivers to make a play.

I guess I just mean in this day and age, staying with a team despite (I'm assuming here) suitors in the portal probably wins you some favor with Kirby. The added benefit of getting more comfortable with scheme and experience that comes along with sticking it out at one spot definitely plays a role too, you're right.
I haven't gotten a chance to watch it yet. I myself am pulling for pugs because I want him to be rewarded for sticking around and prove that it is a way to be successful still in college, but at the end of the day I want the best player to play so that we have the best chance to win.

Last Spring, if Gunner beat out Pugs, Pugs transfers.

Tight ends and running backs looked solid.
Offensive line looked strong on off tackle runs. Pass pro from 1s looked good. I try not to take too much from a spring game, but the OL didn't stand out in short yardage interior runs (which is critical for a championship caliber team).
As is always said, every success for the offense is a knock on the defense and vice versa.
Cornerbacks look strong. ILB looked strong in real time.
I know that it is a spring game with multiple white jerseys on both offense and defense, but it didn't feel like the defense had the juice. They were very solid. But effort didn't look like 2021 (the early 2026 predictions are that we win this season looking like 2021).
Quarterbacks were OK. Some of that may be based on WR drops. Some of that may be on cornerbacks making plays (or safeties taking advantage of overthrows). Some may be on Gunner not getting a lot of reps.
Goal 1) get out healthy
Goal 2) show who each individual player is today and give 4+ months to improve
Goal 3) play callers learn our limitations. How big is the box of play calls where we have a high percentage chances of success? I am loving the huge options available with 2.5 tight ends on the field at all times.
