"Dawgs come out sleepwalking is completely inaccurate..."

Is it? Read this blurb from an article in Dawgpost after game five of last season talking about 5 concerns with the team through the first half of last season...

5. Slow starts – yet again, the Dawgs started slow offensively. It’s not play calling. It’s execution. Missed blocks and missed downfield opportunities continue to plague this offense. To wit, Georgia has scored 17 points in the first quarter through 5 games. So has the opponent. The failure of the offensive line to establish dominance early has caused the Dawg offense to consistently be in second and third and longs which are difficult to overcome. Effectively running the ball sets up play action in which Beck excels. It seems as if this squad is trying to be too careful early on. This must change as we approach the halfway point of the season.

This. We need to be much better against the run. Too many short to medium yards on 2nd and 3rd. If we can be top 5 against the run we should make a very deep run.

If we win all of our games...

Just kidding, I would say if we can have great chemistry between Beck and receiving corps, and the DL is able to cause havoc.

Feel like a seven year alter would be some serious dedication.

But really, we allowed 3.8 yards/carry last season, which isn't the worst, but when an offense has a first down and runs it consecutively, now they're at 3rd and short the majority of the time. Tough to get off the field that way.

Then you get to redzone scoring where teams scored TDs on nearly 60% of redzone trips. And finally time of possession is pretty evenly split, with the Dawgs at 34, opposing team 26.

So not saying we were just god awful on D, but to answer the OPs question, I would feel great about our chances if that yards/rush would be closer to 2 to 2.5.

In 2021 we had an NFL team as our DL
In 2022 we lost most of those guys but returned cyborg freak Jalen Carter in the middle

We didn't have that in 2023. Sure we had some guys, but we didn't have a mega stud like we'd been used to the last 3 years. The best DL we had last year was Mykell who played on the edge. We badly missed a stalwart run stuffer right in the middle. Hopefully we can get back to that.

Seven years and under 250 posts. Not saying it's an alter, but I get the eyebrow raise.

At least we know you're not shitposting.

We had some slow starts on O and D seemed like they give up an opening possession TD every game.

That said, my frame of reference for the “sleepwalking” team is from those random games during the CMR era where we looked like we’d never played football competitively before.

So has bama. So has Ohio state. You aren't going to beat teams 50-0 every game.

The 2007 loss to USCe with a future NFL QB and RB…..against a team that would end up 6-6…still pisses me off. We end up beating Bama that year too.

THAT was sleep walking.

I’d be psyched if we “struggle” against Clemson only up by 3 after first half (The sky e-falls at halftime, some jump off bridges) then we end up winning by “only” 13. And the sky continues to fall and counts self immolation and stuff

LETS GO!!!!

...if both Ogboko and Jonah-Ajonye play up to their potential aside from being true freshmen.
