cincy Are they about the same caliber of opponent that we saw last year?
I would call Cincinnati better than last year but mainly because of another year of experience for their QB and a few other decent players who have developed into really good players.
But realistically, Cincinnati is mainly Ridder - tall, huge arm, also reasonably mobile - plus a really good coach who has gotten the max out of three star recruits. (I think we're the proof that a decent QB completely surrounded by elite players is far better than a guy like Ridder surrounded by AAC-level OL and WRs who can't execute against All SEC level players).
In terms of talent, they've been finishing ranked 40-45th overall in composites over the last few years. Their average signee rating is about 0.84 and they have less than 5 4-stars on the entire roster. Everyone else was 3-star or 2-star.
Yeah, we can all point to 3-star high school players who develop into 4 or 5 star college players, but there's a reason everyone goes mostly after the high ranked prospects. UGA's average recruit last few years is 0.93 and for us, 3-star recruits are now only about 15% of the roster.
Luke Fickell has done a great job coaching up and developing the program, and he's going to be a hot commodity soon. But it's hard to imagine how Cincinnati could survive against our depth and talent level, particularly since they've mostly played AAC teams.
Their fans insist that they proved their point by beating Notre Dame...but...

We all know how non-elite ND is, but it was so nice to see BK bolt in the night to LSU. Maybe that's the wake up call to ND fans that it isn't the 1920's anymore and that their best years will be CFP/NY6 appearances that see them get HOUSED.
I'd be sick to my stomach if we had our all-time wins leader of a coach leave without a peep for a lateral move across CFB. Praise be to the old and new gods that Kirby is as big a Dawg as all of us combined.

Notre Dame must accept the fact that unless they join a P5 Conference, they're just Cincinnati with sparkly helmets.

Even then, could they get the talent in there to win it all?
Kelly did a great job, but isn't ND stringent with their admissions, even for student-athletes? I've never actually looked at their rules, so this might be entirely based off of Rudy or some shite

Unless it's the BIG or the SEC,what good would conference do?
Joining the SEC will never happen BTW.

They need to join the B1G, but they play half their games in the ACC and that isn't by accident.
