Sure, but I don’t have a duck blind primarily because our hunting land isn’t in that part of the State. But if you are right you can hunt out of my deer stand and if I’m right I get the keys to the duck blind.

that 4% higher completion percentage than last year has really been the huge difference . Totally not our vastly improved run blocking and defense that has gotten us to be 5-0
Fromm has certainly played a big role on each game, just as the run game and defense and special teams have. I do not think we would look as impressive with Eason.

Agree to disagree. I think we would look equally as good or better. Only one way to find out. Either way we will be fine.

Maybe Eason this year is better than last year, but until we can't win a game with Fromm as QB, I don't think we need to find out. Get a comfortable lead against Vandy and put him in. Same for Mizzou. Then we'll know if both of them can win.

For instances, I am not certain he hits Godwin on the flea flicker, he certainly doesn't run for 20 yards on 3rd downs when up 10 vs Ut, and Nothing about that app state game indicated he was about to light it up.

Apparently Fromm was taking the 1st team snaps during practice today. Third straight day.

I can't imagine the nightmare this place is going to be if we somehow land Fields and the argument goes from 2 to 3.

Last year, defenses had 6+ guys in the box on almost every play. When you have five linemen trying to block 7 tacklers, the running game is going to be stagnant. Defenses were able to get away with this because Eason was a true freshmen, defenses didn't respect him, but they damn sure knew we had a running game.
And this differs from this season, how? Fromm is a true freshman. Defenses are stacking the box. Difference is this season the RBs are gaining yards.

If Eason starts with the number ones on offense and is what he is supposed to be we are exponentially better than we have been thus far. Imagine tossing a legitimate passing game in on top of our running game....we haven't needed it yet but we very well may.
If he shits the bed Frommis more than serviceable.....
My concern is chemistry.....Fromm is from the south like the majority of the team....Eason ain't......I would bet that it's Fromm team from a players point of view.....and coaching getting involved could frick it up both ways......

Fromm should have 4-5 picks right now if not for inexplicable drops by opposing defenses. The kid is enormously talented, a natural leader, and has a bright future. If we stick with him, I don't think it's a bad strategy in terms of W/L.
That said, Eason was recruited as a can't miss 5* 'spect and should not lose his starting spot to injury. There's a reason that in all the big professional sports leagues they don't punish a guy for getting hurt. I really think this sends a horrible message to future recruits if Eason doesn't get his starting gig back. It shows zero loyalty to players/recruits to take away a guy's first team gig because he got hurt and his backup performed pretty well.
If I were a 5* star 17yo kid, I would certainly think twice about committing to UGA if this is the way we handle injuries.

Too many of y'all are concerned with number of pass attempts. Even with Eason, we would still be a run heavy team. Fromm has provided the legitimate passing game you bring up, and also mobility from the pocket. I doubt Eason can be a more efficient passer, and we know he lacks mobility from the pocket.

Fromm is getting the ball off quicker, and at a higher completion percentage. So defenses are backing off the run. Fromm is already being allowed to change plays at the line, something the didn't let Eason do last year. This all backs the defense off the run. Fromm is a real threat to them.

Only in obvious running situations. And even then, it's alot of "show" run stuff, but at the snap they backpedal into pass defense.
Defenses are playing us honest now.

Just because a pass hits a DBs hand, doesnt mean it should have been an INT. They often play DB instead of WR for a reason.

What? Its how all teams handle injuries at the QB position. IF the replacement is really good and the team wins, the job becomes his. Former pro QB Gary Danielson himself made the statement during the broadcast on CBS.

What? The GOAT of time NFL QB got his chance because the starter got hurt. Tony Romo became the next Gary Danielson because of Dak.

It does mean it was a terrible throw though

That or the target falls to the ground as Nauta did.

Hang on. I'm in the "Stick with what works = Keep Fromm" camp like most everyone else, but hang on. The TD to IMac to win at MiZzzou and to go ahead against Tennessee last year did, indeed save us. You can't blame wretched coverage by the Defense against the Hail Mary on Eason.

It depends on your definition of "games that mattered".
If you mean conference games, I would argue that it did at Missouri, Kentucky, and Auburn. It kept us in the game against Tennessee, and Vanderbilt...and it was the only way we moved the ball against Florida, such as it was.
Not arguing for or against either opinion, but I just found your statement odd. Because Fromm has been so successful, people seem to have forgotten how good Eason was last year.
Stafford used to overthrow a ton of passes, particularly his freshman year, but it continued throughout his stay here.
I don't know what the solution to this is. That's why I am glad I am not Kirby.

That's a guess. he hit Ridley at Tennessee, so he might have hit the flea flicker. When given time he was fairly accurate. Compared to last year Fromm has been given lots of time. When not given time Fromm's accuracy suffers, too.
quote:

Probably not. Nor run for the TD later on....two very big plays in the game. on the other hand, he might not miss Michel going down the sideline and throw it to Nauta. (Although, with Nauta being his favorite target he might have)
I guess my point is, it is pointless to say Eason would or would not have done anything because it is all guesses. Nobody knows how any of the games would have played out if Eason had been out there. We might have won by more and we might have lost one or two.

While true, if we took the Tennessee game passing as an example...nothing shows Fromm would light it up, either, and that is a much bigger sample size. And,over a season Fromm is NOT going to win many games with his legs.
