The fact that rollouts are even being discussed is comical. Did you see how atrocious Stet was throwing on the run Saturday?

He makes good decisions over the course of a game but, the fact of the matter is he is a dwarf and the ball floats to our receivers. He just doesn’t have the physical tools to beat Bama or Clemson.

The very first play? It compliments our run formation. If you think it’s comical, I think your football knowledge is the same... so there.

The answer to this thread is, no, Daniels doesn't play at all. If anything, Mathis would be put in before Daniels.

His arm is weak standing in the pocket, rolling out only magnifies that. When a defense knows he can’t throw the ball 20 yards rolling out they are going to cause turnovers. Majority of defenses we face are going to be deep in the box, therefore rolling out for crossers and digs are going to be shut down. Stet can make plays with his legs when rolling out on bootlegs but that is all he can do. sO tHeRE

You don’t need to throw 20 yards down field on the waggle.. It is another progression in our run play on that zone dive. You usually have an easy pass to a TE rolling with him or a run. We did it on the first play of the game and then kinda got away from it. It keeps their Lbs honest and makes the D line run a lot. Cumulative affect.
In any case, Bennet has made plenty of good throws up the middle this year with zip. Bama took away those passing lanes with how they rushed. Shorter QBs are more affected by that kind of rush, but taller ones will get batted down as well. Bennett is mobile and we should work more to that part of his game. Class dismissed.

Stetson is lucky he hasn't had more picks this year. Didn't he lead JUCO in picks the year he played?

Throwing from the pocket his arm is average at best. That’s why I don’t see the sense in vouching for him to make throws on the move.

I feel like I explained it pretty well. Not sure why you are still wrapped up on your perception of his arm strength

We'll just have to disagree on this. Everything I've seen and read has said otherwise. Not that he's Stafford or anything but it's far from weak and definitely not average.

He has floated a few balls, but that happens for a lot of reasons.

They were not selling out to sack him. Just pushing in and clogging passing lanes

It's a smart move. They don't gas themselves trying to sack and also disrupt his passing lanes and tipping a pass is as good as a sack especially with a mobile QB.

Bennett can do a lot when he rolls out or runs an option play. But I believe Monken and Smart are holding back because if Bennett goes out for a couple of games then Mathis is our best option to replace him, and I think the OC and HC don't believe he is ready. Maybe a few games running the scout team and letting him get hit a few times will get him settled down.

What they thought was Jake gave the team the best chance to win at that point. That doesn't mean he's more talented. Who knows if Fields would've started in 2019 over Jake?

Nearly everyone one of his deep balls have been significantly underthrown, except one where Landers was overthrown to...

Had it been anybody else it would have been an over throw. Bennett also over threw Burton against Bama.

He underthrew Burton on a catch that would have been a TD. Bennett is very serviceable. They just need to get him outside the pocket and get his legs into the throw on deeper passes.
