Do you think we'll have a healthy JT this year? Will he be in rhythm?

I admit - I was surprised that JT couldn't go yesterday. How hurt is he to not be able to go for a top 10 matchup? I don't mean that in a "he should just tough it out" way, I'm fairly sure if he and coaches thought he could go, he would've. We seem to have a pretty great squad right now and we're still down what many would consider to be our starting QB and top 2 receivers.

It sounds sarcastic and a bit cocky, but I think there was no need to play JT yesterday. Kirby and staff were going into that game knowing they were going to run the ball 40-50 times, and the defense would do what it did. I’ve got a dollar that says JT plays this week. I don’t like Stetson going into hostile environment, against a rival.

He probably could've played yesterday but there clearly was no reason to throw him out there. I bet we rest him until FU.

Reading Kirby’s comments about it, I really dont think JT will be back for a while if at all. He spends all week before a game downplaying the injury saying he’ll see how he feels in warmups, then after the game he acts shocked and mad that everyone doesn’t understand how serious his injury is. So whatever.

Time for people to accept and embrace the fact that Stetson Bennett the IV is the starting QB for the Georgia Bulldogs.

I don’t have any expectation of seeing him play this season. Clearly his injuries are worse than they are letting on.

By seeing him dressed out makes me think that if he was really needed he would have been able to play yesterday.not sure how much he could physically do . If he’s not dressed & on the sideline then I will be worried .

If Smart is being honest about it being a "grade 1 lat strain," that's something that would heal completely in 2-3 weeks assuming rehab and not aggravating it. The question is the honesty part.

Smart also said that they are thinking it's less serious than what Dak Prescott, Dallas QB had suffered in July. Turns out he had to sit out fully for a month and it was rumored a grade 2.

Kirby mentioned that they talked to NFL trainers - maybe even the Cowboys staff. So is Smart lying about all of this...or downplaying it?

I have no idea. But if Daniels is really not playing again this season, then I would have to assume he will be coming back to UGA for 2022. I doubt he would want to go into a draft with three games on his resume for his last college season.

All of that said, I will be very surprised if Daniel's situation is not what Smart has described.

It is to be noted that this is the second time since he has been here that there appeared to be mysterious circumstances surrounding his health to play.

I assume this refers to being cleared post-knee injury but not immediately playing. But when he did finally play, he was good. What's the implication? That Kirby constantly changes his story or goes back and forth about injuries to key players? Or there is some greater conspiracy going on?

There was quite the ruckus last year that alleged JT was ready, but Kirby was holding him out. Once JT started, Kirby didn’t have what appeared to be a QB competition. JT was the man. This year,it was also pretty clear that JT is the man. Yet now, again, JT has a mystery injury and is dressing for games, but unable to play. Or at least not playing.

overreaction imo. JT would not be fully dressed if he was as injured as you are suggesting. Kirby will play him if he thinks Stetson can't win by 3 Td's. Like I said, he will be back by the FU game

Kirby said last night in the presser that the only way this injury heals is with rest. They have consulted Dallas trainers (because of Dak) as well as the Yankees (lat injury for pitchers is common) and the only way to get through this injury is rest so it can heal.

I think some of yall are reading too much into it. The kid is hurt and putting him out there when he isn't healed is only going to prolong the situation.

Just let the kid heal, Stetson is more than capable of getting us through the next couple of weeks.

100% agree with this. JT may have been called in either if Stetson got hurt or we somehow got behind a couple scores early in the game. It's a grade 1 lat....so soreness that could be played on if he can manage the pain.
