Listened to the last two innings of the baseball game on the radio yesterday and Dantzler is an amazing baseball play-by-play announcer. Paints a good picture without acting like too much of a wordsmith. Definitely a huge homer but it's okay because you could tell it's genuine and he lives and breathes this stuff.
Does anybody know who will replace Dantzler with Kevin Butler on the show before the pregame show? I wish they'd either put Hondo in that slot and find someone to replace Hondo or put Hondo in the trash can. Hondo seems like a DGD and I'm sure he's done a lot for the university, but Hondo fricking sucks. Listening to Hondo is like listening to a wacky cornball midwest FM DJ. The only thing missing are the sound effects and the clown noises. Not saying we need some super redneck to host the pregame show, but Hondo has that midwest accent that's grating on the nerves and it seems really out of place on the Georgia pregame show.
If I could change any two things about Georgia football, it would be getting rid of Hondo and aslo pressure washing the stadium. The stadium needs to be pressure washed something serious. I know somebody who would probably do it for free.

Per an interview with JD on 92.9, he said he would continue to do show with Butler.
Though now that I think about it I think he was talking about Bulldawg Brunch on Sundays.
Jd has been great on the baseball calls. Great stuff.

That's great. I guess he may not do the post-game show and just the brunch show, but he may do both. That's one of the best old school college football shows on the air.

The pregame radio show isn't a whole lot of talking by any one individual, it's a lot of clips and lots of Piedmont Healthcare and Metal Roof commercials.

Bulldawg Brunch is a great listen. You can stream it after the fact also if you are too hung over to get to a radio in time on Sunday.
I havent heard anything about pregame or post-game.
But drew butler did substitute once last year if I recall. That may be the short list for a quick last minute replacement. Or it could indicate that he is in queue for more work when available.

Fun fact about Hondo. His daughter is a country singer of some renown named Lily Rose.
Some very dear friends of mine were counselors at her high school (St Pius X) and snagged an invite to her wedding a few years back.

Hondo's daughter apparently is just as big of an idiot as Hondo. Out of all the country music stage names possible Hondo's daughter decided to choose the porniest sounding one possible. Fire the whole family!
