Campbell needs reps but not in the sugar bowl where the opponent has three nfl receivers.

I think Christian McCaffrey was the first one to announce he was skipping the bowl

Knew it was coming. Sadly, this is what college football has become, and if the talking heads in the media have their way, college football is simply going to become another NFL.

So if every player with future NFL hopes said frick it, bowl game is meaningless, you'd be ok with that?

If it's not the playoff and the player is draft eligible, yes I'm fine with that. The difference in being pick 10 and pick 30 is millions of dollars.

ETA: I view non-playoff bowls as a chance to get a head start on next season

May wanna give that autograph to someone who isn't a baby about a player skipping one game despite a damn near flawless career and returning for one extra year.

Iron sharpens iron? One the bright side, he can only blow coverage in one of them.

Is a bowl win or loss counted in the teams final record for the year? Yes, of course, it is

Quitting before the job is done , before the mission is complete, before finishing something you started.....is cowardly and weak.

Money cant change that.

Once you're just in it for the NFL payday, the only college games that have any meaning/value are those that build your draft stock. If you're already a projected first rounder, playing *any* college game risks a career-ending (or limiting) injury, so why bother? Mercenaries gotta mercenary.

This is great for him and I hope he goes top 10. Might as well use the sugar bowl to build more depth in the secondary.

His decision is definitely in the best interest for his future and I respect that, but why did he say he would play in the first place?

Why do people have to fall all over themselves trying to be non-judgemental about these types of things?

You basically just said you “respect” quitting.

I doubt in reality that you actually respect quitters, but that’s exactly what you just said.

Is leaving early and skipping your senior year considered quitting, too?

At what point should they stop playing? Play the first game of the season, get your food and housing paid for for 4 months and then say you aren’t playing any more? Where do we draw the line?

Skipping senior year isn't quitting midseason. As a junior, you finish your season, which includes a bowl. Then skip senior year. Quitting before the bowl is trashy.
