Congrats, you should be proud.

You do NOT want her as a proctologist.
She would take all her anger out on your arse.

shite, my bad man. I thought you said it was your son. Wouldn't have made that joke if I knew it was your daughter.

The son graduated today. Fin was also referencing my daughter who graduated last spring and wants to got to medical school.
But it's all good. She can take care of herself.

When should she be hearing about med school? He letter was quite good.

She got requests for the secondary application for all 4 schools she applied to.
She was very thankful for your help, btw.

She's a good kid - both of them are. Her letter was excellent and she's incredibly intelligent. She's gonna get in somewhere and they're going to be fortunate to have her.

That's awesome. Best of luck to her! She's in for a fun 8-10 years Does she have any idea what type of specialty she's interested in? (obviously not proctology)
And when it comes to deciding on schools...unless one is just in a whole other league from the others, looking at the total debt for each is one of the single biggest factors to look at. A lot of people blow it off when they're applying and pay for it later. Med schools will try and emphasize a lot of other stuff that sounds important but isn't...

Oncology. Someone close to her is a 2x cancer survivor.

She's starting at an exciting time for sure then. Having something personal like that will help her a lot too during the dark periods in med school and residency. I'm sure that's exciting for Rules too.

Yeah. Her mom (my wife) is a two time survivor, diagnosed 21 years ago.
Still kicking and ornery as hell. Thankfully.
By the way, your advice is perfect about the debt-to-bullshite ratio. I've determined that most med schools are very good, and the one you can go to cheaply is usually the best decision. Thanks.

Good to hear, best of luck to the Mrs.
It sounds like y'all have looked into things and know what's up but if anything comes up I'd be more than happy to give any input. Another big piece of advice is for her not to study before school starts, just enjoy the summer.
And yea most schools are really good. It's definitely a situation where you get out of it what you put in. You can crush the boards and get the residency you want no matter where you go to school (US allopathic schools, it gets a little dicier otherwise with more competitive specialties).

Congrats. In regards to your daughter, my uncle is the head of the Pharmacology department at MCG and I will help in any way I can if she needs it. He's a nerd school grad too.
