Per 92.9:GTAA has announced press conference for tomorrow afternoon.

Assuming it's the end for Collins

Update with LINK

quote:

A special meeting of the Georgia Tech Athletic Association board has been called for Monday afternoon, a school spokesman told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Sunday morning.

He did not disclose details of the meeting, but it’s a strong indication that a decision about a change in the leadership of the football program has been made. That could be mean either athletic director Todd Stansbury or coach Geoff Collins.

Yea, wonder if the board is pissed he didn’t follow through with the initiative last week.

I really thought this AD and HC were going to change the programs. They did a great job of firing up the boosters and getting some good money and advertising to the athletic department. Not really sure where GT can go from here….need to focus on Basketball and baseball

Yah, Johnson retired. There was some pressure from the alumni groups after he had a few losing seasons. I think Stansbury was going to stay w/ him but he suddenly retired which was a smart move for him. I think Tech can get back to relevancy with a decent coach. I mean they play in the ACC coastal.

Not reading AJC link but isn't it more likely that Stansbury gets shitcanned, and let the new AD hire a new football coach?

Well that was dumb. They are going to owe him a lot of money, the season is already a waste no matter the decision, so save a shite ton of money by keeping him through the season where his buyout is cut in half, and have a new AD in town to shop coaches in the meantime. This is a very cart before the horse mistake for GT. They are done. Done done.

RD, this is the second time you are going to go apeshit for someone posting a link after you posted it? Or are you going to be cool this time?

If you'll read, you'll see that the Seguira link was amended after it was official.

Deion Sanders recruiting Atlanta with NIL money (not that GT has a lot….) at a hometown school is pretty dang scary.

Do not remember first time and we have a different definition of "going apeshit"

But I'll give full credit to IT for breaking the story albeit somewhat prematurely

And the players are unhappy on social media. Seems like they have a deep respect/loyalty to Coach Capri.

Can't really see them winning any games the rest of the season. Never thought I'd see any of our rivals go 1-11, but here we are. Lmao.

Their remaining "good" players will all hit the portal before the new year, and future recruiting is dead in the water until they can bring on a new guy... But who is available right now that is 1. Good and 2. Even remotely interested in that dumpster fire?

My hot take: The new AD will be known as the guy who dropped Tech football to FCS.
