there's been discussion about moving it to home/home for at least 20 years. I think you have to look at how many premium home games we have. This year we had Auburn and Oklahoma - that's it. Florida would give us another premium home game every other year. The University's get too big a payout to play it in Jacksonville so I'm pretty sure it stays in Jax.

Don't forget the home game with our bitter rival, Western Kentucky.

UGA vs Gators gets the prime SEC timeslot at 3:30 and has for as long as I can remember. I think it was a night game once or twice.

If the game moves to home and home, I promise you that the bad gator years get the noon timestamp.

The only reason why the game has national relevance is the neutral site.

JAX has some nice places and cool folks, but it also has a terrible, terrible mix of white trash and Yankees, many are both…. And there is a lot of Yankee money in Jax now. Rich Yankees. The kind of Yankees that tell you how they do it back home yankees. I am shocked Jefferson goes near the place.

I travel to Jacksonville every year for the game. It's funny you mention it, i was talking to my crew and everyone was very excited to not have to make the trip to Jacksonville.

This game NEEDS to be in jacksonville

But why? Just because its been that way? Jacksonville is a shithole. It's not a fun city. No one even stays there, they'd rather drive an hour on gameday to not have to be in that city. It's old and tired, just go to home and home.

What about Amelia and St. Simons? St. Augustine?

Are those shitholes too?

I stay on St. Simons. It's not a shithole, but its not somewhere I would go if it weren't for the Ga/Florida game.

The point is, no one even wants to go to Jacksonville. They stay an hour away just to avoid the place. Sorry but that's not a positive for keeping the game in Jacksonville, that's a negative.

Should we play the game in Kingston, Jamaica because people like to vacation on a beach before the game? Is Kingston not a shithole just because there are beaches 30-60 minutes away?

You are normally a solid poster so I won't call you names.

Do you know why Jacksonville is better than Kingston?

It's a border town between our two states and it has a stadium. Kingston is in a foreign country. Your analogy is absurd.

My point was just because a city has beaches an hour away doesnt mean its a good place for the game. Also, I deliberately picked Kingston because its just about as ghetto as Jacksonville.

ETA: Fell free to call me names. I call everyone a retard, you won't hurt my feelings.

Having beaches an hour away is a selling point.

I worded that poorly. I meant, the fact that the only positive is that they have beaches nearby is not a reason to keep it there, its a reason not to keep it there.

I will say the best and the only real good argument I've seen in this thread for keeping it is that if it does go home/home it would just be another game.

But I still don't like Jacksonville and will continue to do everything I can to be in that city for as short of a time as possible.

I'll be curious to see what the area outside of the stadium looks like when all of the renovations are done. If Shad Khan is pumping this much money into the project and having his family live in the penthouse of the main building, you can bet your arse some promises were made to clean up the ghetto shittiness in that area. I'm amazed it has taken this long for anyone to decide to do anything with that riverbank area.
